Victorian school house sleeping 12 with a function room, for business events, big get togethers and special occasions

Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.
Old School House, Allenheads, Northumberland, sleeps 8-12 in 4 bedrooms.

Location
Overlooking England’s highest village, the Old School House offers panoramic views over the stunning rural landscape of the North Pennines. It is an ideal place for a relaxing yet invigorating escape from the daily routine.

Since summer 2012 we have had a number of delighted visitors including groups of friends and families celebrating birthdays, weddings and anniversaries as well as artists, writers, poetry groups, musicians, film makers, photographers and cyclists on the coast to coast route.

The Space
The west wing of the Victorian schoolhouse, originally used as a classroom and library, has recently been refurbished to provide spacious, self-contained, self catering accommodation for up to 12 visitors. It is a beautiful space which includes an open-plan living area with high ceilings, a wood-burning stove, big comfortable sofas and a long dining table with a fitted oak kitchen.

For our Business Guests
The Old School House is also an ideal place for businesses looking for somewhere different to host residential conferences and training courses, taking advantage of our additional conference room (8x8m) with big screen presentation, surround sound, printing/copying/scanning facilities and versatile spaces inside and out for breakout groups. We can offer an additional 2-bed flat for larger business groups, accommodating 14 resident guests and up to 50 delegates overall. We can also book specialist providers in the area who can offer a range of outdoor pursuits such as gorge walking or mine trips.

Unique Features
One of the outstanding features of the North Pennines is the quality of the dark night skies with exceptional views (weather permitting) of distant galaxies, star clusters and the Milky Way. We are excited to announce that in 2017 the new North Pennines Observatory will be completed on the east side of the premises. This will allow visitors to explore the dark skies with specialist equipment and instruction. Additional prices will apply and advance booking necessary - please enquire.

The property has been listed in the September 2016 edition of The Guardian’s top places to stay in the UK over Christmas and New Year.
