Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.
The Old School House Innerwick, East Lothian, Scotland, sleeps 16-36 in 7 bedrooms.
Formerly the local primary school, The Old School House from the outside in the main remains true to its initial calling, with the interior being modified to provide flexible communal space and dormitories. It is truly unique in that it is the only accommodation of its type in East Lothian and provides an excellent base for engaging with East Lothian's many year-round festivals and sporting events. The Old School House also welcomes youth and community organisations, and groups attending weddings at local venues.
Available with sole use, The Old School House is perfect for a gathering of large groups of friends or family on a budget and wanting no-frills, self-catered accommodation where quality time together is the main criteria. The kitchen can easily facilitate the production of home-cooked meals or, for convenience, the freezer can be stocked up. The dining room ensures that whatever you sit down to eat, you do so together. The large communal room allows for everyone to gather, relax and socialise.
The nearest town of Dunbar has a large supermarket plus dining and leisure opportunities, and also a rail station which makes for easy transportation and pick-up.
The bunkhouse is especially suited for those who wish to engage in the great outdoors. There is a drying room for wet gear and a lockable garage for secure storage of bikes and other outdoor equipment. With 22 golf courses, there is much choice for golfers of all standards whilst stunning views are a given. East Lothian is not called The Golf Coast for nothing!
Close to the Sustrans National Route 76, cyclists can easily engage with part of the 168 miles route. Alternatively there is a 39 mile Go East Lothian Trail, perfect for families either on mini adventures or day trips. Just 5 miles down the road at Dunbar water sports are available, either at the wonderful Belhaven Bay or at Fox Lake where disc-golf is also an option.
Other outdoor activities include horse-riding and rock climbing. If hiking is what you are seeking, along with miles of coastline or the Lammermuir Hills, East Lothian is home to a section of the John Muir Way which runs from Dunbar to Helensburgh on the west coast.
A non refundable deposit of 50% is due on booking with the balance due four weeks prior to entry date.
