Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. The Old Vicarage, Rosedale Abbey, Yorkshire, sleeps 8 - 16 in 8 bedrooms.

The Old Vicarage has been lovingly restored to its former Victorian glory, retaining many of its original features, whilst being fully modernised. The house is set in 2 acres of grounds on the edge of a pretty village in the heart of the North York Moors, with stunning views of the moors and green slopes of the Rosedale Valley from every window.

It is a perfect destination to escape from it all, relax and spend quality time with friends and family in a truly stunning location with plenty of space (inside and out) to spread out. The Old Vicarage offers a true luxury retreat in a fabulous setting with beautiful views from every window.

There is a large dining room (which comfortably seats all 16 guests), a stunning kitchen for creating a feast, a formal lounge, snug, spacious orangery plus an indoor table tennis table in the converted garage. There are 8 bedrooms, 6 with en suites and 2 which share a large family bathroom. 2 of the twin rooms have the additional benefit of 'ziplock' beds which can be converted to a superking bed. There's also a downstairs toilet. WiFi is provided in the house, plus Netflix is available on all the TVs. Please note there is very limited mobile reception in the village but a landline phone is available in the house for guests to use.

Outside there are 2 acres of gardens and grounds to explore, including a stunning decking area to dine outside and take in the uninterrupted views of Rosedale. There is also a large gas barbecue to compliment the decking and outdoor living space. There's ample parking with space for over 8 cars.

The house is situated in the beautiful Yorkshire village of Rosedale Abbey, with a local café, small village shop and tea room a short stroll from the house. Towards the outskirts of the village there are 2 pubs, both within walking distance.

There are many great local walks right on the door step plus the original Tour de Yorkshire cycle route passes through the village! The steepest public road in the UK (at 1 in 3) takes you up Chimney Bank from the village to breathtaking views over the Moors, Rosedale Valley, village and The Old Vicarage.

Dog Friendly

3 well behaved dogs are welcome - we ask that dogs are kept off the furniture and do not go upstairs (stairgate is provided to help with this).

Disabled Facilities

No specific facilities for disabled guests. There is a ground floor en suite bedroom, and a separate downstairs toilet.

WiFi

There is a landline available in the snug. Good satellite WiFi through out the house. Very limited mobile reception at the property.

Kitchen

A stunning fully equipped kitchen including American fridge freezer, large range cooker, microwave, Nespresso machine and kitchen table that seats 6.

Dining Room

Beautiful large dining room comfortably seating 16 with a large lazy Susan in the centre to help share the food round the huge dining table.

Sitting Room

3 seating areas in the house: a stunning orangery with views to the moors and gardens, a formal lounge and a smaller snug.

TV and Music Facilities

3 Smart TVs in the house: a large TV in the lounge and snug, plus a Smart TV in the large master en suite bedroom. All include Netflix.

Games Room

A table tennis table in the garage games room.

Heating and Open Fires

Time/thermostatically controlled oil central heating system and there are open log fires in the lounge and snug (logs supplied).

8 bedrooms in total - 2 kingsize en suites, 2 superking size en suites, 2 twin and 2 ziplock en suites (twin/queensize) set to guest preference.

All bed linen and towels are provided.

Bathrooms

In addition to the shower en suites there is a family bathroom (bath and shower) shared by 2 twin rooms. Downstairs toilet.

2 high chairs and 2 cots available (plus a travel cot)

Outdoor

Large garden (2 acres in total), part of which is dog free and part of which dogs are welcome to explore. Selection of outdoor games provided.

Location

The Vicarage is a short walk from the centre of the village. Rosedale Abbey is approx 10 miles from Pickering and 8 miles from Kirkbymoorside. Rosedale Abbey is in the heart of the Moors walking area.

The bus service is twice a week to Pickering so not a practical way to reach the house.
York station is about an hour away. Malton station is approx 30 mins away. Northallerton and Thirsk stations are about an hour away.
Rosedale Abbey is a small village and has a small general store, 2 tea rooms and 2 pubs. The nearest towns are Pickering and Kirkbymoorside.
The village shop and tea rooms are a short walk from the house for bread, milk and other essentials. Larger shops (Co-op, Lidl) are 8 miles away in Pickering and Kirkbymoorside.
There are 2 tea rooms and 2 pubs within walking distance of the house. Graze on the Green is our favourite for freshly baked cakes and treats (5 minute walk).
Leeds Bradford (60 miles, 1 hour 50 mins).Teeside Airport (40 miles, 1 hour).
