Ormidale House is a very spacious, luxurious and comfortable 17th century mansion house sleeping 36 (with adult occupancy capped at 26) with 13 big bedrooms and 8 bathrooms, full size snooker room, dining hall for 24, two TV rooms, breakfast room, glorious drawing room with baby-grand piano, open fires, plus 8 person sauna and hot tub.
Set in breathtaking scenery but only an hour and a half's spectacular drive from Glasgow, it is an easily accessible celebration house or base for a family holiday on Scotland's stunning west coast.
A heated indoor swimming pool and a tennis court, children’s play areas, including a trampoline, and separate games cottage with darts, table tennis and pool table ensure that no member of your party will ever be at a loss for something to do on the estate itself. With access to the formal gardens and 1000 acre surrounding Forestry Commission land, this is an idyllic haven for adults and children alike.
The ground floor accommodation of Ormidale House lends itself ideally to big groups for family celebrations, weddings, anniversaries, and corporate bonding sessions. We have a beautiful dining hall, magnificent drawing room, billiard room, TV room seating 20 or so, kids playroom with second TV, breakfast room for 16 as well as a generously sized kitchen.
Upstairs the 13 bedrooms are generously proportioned, so that a party of 24 adults will feel very luxuriously accommodated. There are 2 multi-sleeping bunk rooms and spare beds in another 3 bedrooms to bring our overall capacity to 36. 11 of the bedrooms have either an en suite or private wash-hand basin.
Other houses are available on the estate if you need to sleep larger numbers of guests.
Set within a 22 acre estate, the houses enjoy spectacular views and scenic locations near the Kyles of Bute on the west coast of Scotland, yet only an hour and a half from Glasgow.
A wide choice of water sports and outdoor activity centres are available nearby, and we can arrange fishing, stalking and shooting if required. The area offers wonderful walking and cycling opportunities, or simply a perfect base for getting together with family and friends.
