Orrest Head House is a grade 2 listed historic building with features dating back to 1672. All set in over 2 acres of private grounds. The house has been extensively restored and is now decorated in an eclectic mix of traditional Cumbrian cottage meets boutique pad.
The house features a huge designer kitchen with superb views including glimpses of Lake Windermere. Furnished with contemporary units, granite work surfaces, a central island unit, large table with bench seating, feature fireplace, separate preparation and washing areas and equipped for large parties.
The formal dining room has a large rustic table with 18 seats.
The TV snug just off the kitchen has a flat screen TV and seating for a small group to get away from the crowd.
The snug also leads to our 2 downstairs toilets.
The lounge is a grand space with huge specially commissioned Chesterfield leather sofas seating 16 people.
The house WOW! factor is Josiah Brown's - your very own bar. A fabulous space to kick-off any party.
On the first floor there are 5 en suite bedrooms. Bedroom 1 has a super king size sleigh bed and flat-screen TV. The en suite features a Victorian style bath and separate shower cubicle with watering can style shower head, plus toilet and sink.
Bedrooms 2 and 3 each have a king size bed with flat-screen TV and feature an in bedroom bath which looks out over the garden. The contemporary en suites have a shower and toilet.
Bedrooms 4 and 5 are both triples, decorated in Cole and Son wallpaper with single beds, which can be pushed together and flat-screen TVs. Both have en suite shower rooms tiled in natural stone with toilet and sink.
Outside there is a large terraced area with table and chair set plus barbecue. The house backs straight on the footpath, which leads up through Common Woods to the summit of Orrest Head one of the best short walks in the Lake District. One of Alfred Wainwright's (the famous Lake District author) favourite walks.
