Charming dog friendly log cabin near Glenshee sleeping 10 with a games room and wood fired hot tub for family holidays
Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. Our Cabin in the Wood, Pitlochry, Perthshire, Scotland, sleeps 2 - 10 in 5 bedrooms.
Our Cabin in the Wood was built in 1968 but has been extensively modernised in recent years. With 5 large bedrooms, 2 large sitting areas, dining for a group of 10, fully equipped kitchen, a newly built games room and log burners, you hardly feel you need to go anywhere.
But the location of the cabin is beautiful, set in a woodland, in the hills and the draw to explore is huge. There are many walks around the cabin and you can drive a short distance to find many more eg around Bridge of Cally or Pitlochry. The cabin is walking distance to a couple of local hotels which serve food and drink and there is a local shop where you can find all basic necessities plus some fresh food and homemade baking. There is a post office and cafe in the shop too.
It's a 25 minute car journey to ski in Glenshee and you can hire equipment there.
The cabin is set in 3 acres of grounds made up of lawn, woods and paths. There is a large deck and patio area at one end of the cabin which can be accessed through the conservatory or living room. A pizza oven, BBQ and a couple of fire pits on the terrace, together with the wood burning hot tub, make for a fantastic experience if you've been out and about all day.
The cabin has an en suite master, a family bathroom with shower, a loo and an electric shower in one of the bedrooms. This means everyone can get a hot shower after a dip in the river or a day on the slopes. The house is extremely well equipped and there is lots to do - board games, pool, table tennis (indoor or out), darts, TV, football goal and trampoline. It's cool and spacious in the summer and cosy in winter.
Arrive and relax!
The Glen is also home to several other cabins. These are spread wide apart, you only see them when walking up the road. The Glen has a close community, and we respect each other's privacy, so being careful when driving up the private road, not having loud music playing outside, being respectful with dogs and not going too close to other cabins is essential. What it does mean is the Glen is a really relaxing place for people to be and everyone can enjoy what it has to offer.
