Owlscombe has been designed to make the most of the spectacular outlook through large picture windows, balconies, pretty gardens and a sizeable patio. Explore hidden paths and ponds, perfect for a game of hide and seek, or to sit quietly on benches watching the local wildlife with a coffee. Porlock Weir beach is a short stroll away, under 10 minutes from the house and on the South West Coastal Path for keen walkers and cyclists.
The open plan living areas at Owlscombe are welcoming, with a double sided wood burner to keep the house toasty and cosy corners for relaxing on squashy sofas. Sit down for a family dinner at the table for 12 with a meal prepared in the large fully equipped kitchen, or outside on the patio for a barbecue and drinks with a stunning sea backdrop. Exmoor was the first UK dark sky reserve so make sure you look up on a clear evening at the stunning Porlock Weir skies. Dogs will also love their holiday at Owlscombe where there's plenty of room to exercise them in the garden, plus the beach and many circular walks including a lovely one via Heddons Mouth.
Owlscombe is ideal for a mixed age group. The 6 bedrooms across 3 floors work well with a top floor open plan den games room plus a pool table and PS4. This also doubles up as a twin bedroom popular with the youngsters. There is a ground floor double room next to the shower room, perfect for grandparents or anyone who might find the stairs difficult. The other 4 bedrooms are on the 1st floor, luxury spaces with even more fabulous views and all with en suite facilities. 2 have private balconies and the 3rd has a luxurious double ended bath looking out to Gore Point.
There are other well known beaches to visit too while staying at Owlscombe, including Minehead, Dunster and Woolacombe, which is perfect for surfing. If wildlife is your thing then there are a number of companies running Exmoor safaris with a good chance to spot wild deer and red stags. Porlock Weir is a short walk away, a quirky magical little harbour and somewhere to grab a pint and meal out at one of 4 eateries.
