This is a wonderful destination for multi generational families, friends, walkers and cyclists to meet up for a holiday in the heart of the Lake District National Park. Between Holmrook and Eskdale, this is a great base for exploring local forest trails too - perfect for keen walkers and cyclists - as well as being in close proximity to Scafell Pike, England's highest mountain.
There's a range of accommodation available, with something to suit everyone, all options welcome up to 2 well behaved dogs too. The cabins are quirky yet warm and comfortable with a cosy wood burner and arched window to take in fabulous Lake District views whatever the weather. 5 fully insulated caravans with central heating and views towards the surrounding fells from raised decked areas are also popular with families or couples. Harter Cottage has its own private garden and patio doors opening onto a lovely terrace - an option for those after a little more privacy.
Harter Cottage has a fully equipped kitchen including a dishwasher and washing machine although all have access to washing facilities for taking care of outdoor walking kit. Dining and lounge areas are comfortable areas with relaxed seating and a TV. The cabins and cottage also benefit from a wood burner. The accommodation has a firepit for marshmallow toasting and camp fire stories. Bedrooms are flexible, set up as doubles, twins or triples and catering well for a mixed age gathering. Soft furnishings are stylish and bathroom facilities plentiful and modern.

For gentler pursuits, Muncaster Castle is a short drive away, as is the Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway, a 7 mile narrow gauge track through stunning countryside. A day at the seaside is also possible with Seascale being just 10 minutes and the dunes at Drigg a similar distance.
