Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. Parson House Outdoor Pursuit Centre, Sheffield, sleeps 15 - 30 in 6 bedrooms.

Parson House offers a comfortable, good quality residential base, an excellent place for young children to enjoy the residential experience, with disabled facilities. The centre sleeps max 30 and the minimum group size is 10, with each group enjoying sole use of the centre. Create your own programme of activities and self cater, or choose a fully catered option with good home cooking, and a programme of outdoor activities. All courses are tailor made to your school groups requirements, and we also offer an evening programme.
Activities available include canoeing, kayaking, obstacle course, indoor climbing wall, abseiling and climbing, caving, hill walking, rock hopping, weaselling, problem solving, orienteering, bouldering. All the outdoor activities are in close proximity to the centre or on site, so less time travelling more time on each activity. All instructors hold current NGB awards, safeguarding certificate and are CRB checked.
The centre is also in an amazing geographical area for schools and field trips with a curriculum focus. This is an area steeped in history, which we can pass on to you.
At Parson House there’s a large dining room and kitchen, dormitory style bedrooms all with their own private showers/toilets next door, TV room/lounge area, games room, 2 drying rooms, tuck shop, sports hall with indoor climbing wall, large obstacle course and play area.
Schools, youth groups and families love us due to our location and atmosphere, a warm welcome for all, and you’re sure to come back every year.

The ground floor is wheelchair accessible to the dining room, games room and bedrooms, with a seat in the shower, rails and easy access outside.

Kitchen

The kitchen caters comfortably for 30 people; large oven and hob, fryers, large fridge and deep freeze, fully equipped. All crockery is provided.

Dining Room

Seats 30 people comfortably. 4 large tables with chairs.

Sitting Room

A comfortable lounge area upstairs, seats 30, with TV and quiet area. Free WiFi.

TV and Music Facilities

TV and DVD player is situated in the upstairs lounge, stereo, docking station. Free WiFi.

Games Room

Large games room with table tennis, dart board, table football. This room is downstairs.

Heating and Open Fires

Central heating.

Bedrooms

Upstairs - 1 x 6 people (all bunks),1 x 8 people, 2 twins. Downstairs - 2 x 6 people. All with private showers, toilets and wash basins next door.

Linen

All linen is provided, at an extra cost, or you can bring your own. Please bring your own towels.

Bathrooms

Private shower/toilet areas for each bedroom, with up to 2 or 3 showers in each area.

Children's Facilities

The centre is designed for all, games room, TV lounge, lots of open space to play in. Rooms have bunk beds, travel cot on request.

Outdoor

Surrounded by fields, lots of play area, 24hr security, tranquil, BBQ area, access onto the moors for walking, mountain biking.

Swimming Pool

No but Hathersage has a heated open air pool 3 miles away.

Parking

24 hr secure (with security cameras) parking long way off the main road, right outside your accommodation.

Smoking

Smoking is allowed outside the buildings, non smoking inside.

Location

In the Peak District National Park, off the A6187, grid ref 270809, 1400ft above sea level, on Burbage Moor. 20 mins from Sheffield city centre.

  • 300 yards at the bottom of our drive.
  • Grindleford, Dore and Hathersage 3 miles away. Sheffield, 10 miles away.
  • Sheffield, approx 20 mins (8 miles); Hathersage is 10 mins (3 miles); Castleton, 20 mins (8 miles approx).
  • 3 miles Hathersage, Grindleford or Dore.
  • Fox House Inn 10 minute walk across the field, or 2 minute drive. Hathersage has pubs, restaurants and cafés. We also provide full/half board.
  • Robin Hood Doncaster and Manchester.
