Pitcalzean House is a large traditional Georgian country house set in woodland in the Scottish Highlands on the NC500. Family and pet friendly, this is a fantastic house for friends, family gatherings and big celebrations. Features include a barbecue hut, cinema and full sized snooker room
Peaceful and elegant, Pitcalzean House is a relaxing haven where you can enjoy the perfect break. There is an impressive and elegant drawing room with lovely garden views, a spacious dining room once graced by the visiting Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip in 1974, and a fine snooker room for evening entertainment.
With 33 acres of land, there's lots of space for children; treehouse, play areas, tyre swings, a haven of fun for little ones.
For celebrations there is a coach house (60 m from the house), a rustic style barn, holding up to 60. A bar, music and catering can be organised, with extra local accommodation arranged for extra guests if required. For the colder months there is a wood burning stove on the ground floor.
Small weddings are also welcome at Pitcalzean House, with lots of suggestions and help from a personal co-ordinator. (Please note that we are unable to allow a marquee in the grounds).
This area is peaceful and quiet with some lovely sandy beaches (Shandwick, Portmahomack and Dornoch) and dolphin watching or fishing cruises. Tain, the nearest town, is an historic market town with attractive shops and cafés. Inverness is just 36 miles away and the airport just a little further.
There is plenty to do for all the family - hill walking, beachcombing, dolphin spotting and golf. There is a 9-hole golf course at Tarbat nearby and also that most famous of Scottish courses - Royal Dornoch - just a 20-minute drive away, as well as Golspie. Whisky tour groups are also welcome, with Pitcalzean House being close to the Glenmorangie Distillery and Dalmore to name a few.
