Priescliffe House is a luxurious Victorian residence ideal for groups of up 20 guests or if you are a family group with children you can sleep a few more (up to 24 guests).

There is no shortage of space in this recently renovated home, which has a large open plan kitchen and dining room, perfect for large group dining. A fabulous formal sitting room, with plenty of comfortable soft seating and wonderful period features including an original Ashford black marble fireplace, has delightful views over the surrounding Peak District countryside.

There are 9 boutique style en suite bedrooms, with most bedrooms having the option of being made up as double or twin beds. A few of the bedrooms have additional bunkbeds/built in beds, ideal for family groups.

The converted cellar is the ultimate games room with a 6ft multi games table for table tennis, air hockey and pool, a dart board and a retro electronic games table with 60 games, including old favourites such as Donkey Kong, Space Invader and Pac Man, keeping children and adults occupied alike! There is also an additional lounge area with 42 inch smart TV screen in the cellar, a great space for children to hang out. The cellar also has external access to the terrace area which is an ideal space for children to play on the outdoor games provided. There is also a fantastic patio area to the front of the property with outdoor furniture.

Priestcliffe House is the perfect base for exploring the many attractions of the Peak District; the house is less than 5 miles away from the Victorian spa town of Buxton with its renowned Opera House, and just over 5 miles from the ancient market town of Bakewell, home to the famous Bakewell pudding. Both towns have a variety of boutique shops, cafés, restaurants and pubs to explore and enjoy. The historic homes of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are also within easy reach. There are many great walking routes nearby and from your doorstep you can walk to the picturesque Miller’s Dale where you can also jump onto the Monsal Trail and walk or cycle to your heart’s desire on the former Midlands railway route with its reopened tunnels and spectacular scenery.

Open plan kitchen/dining area with one large dining table with benches, perfect for 20 guests, but also able to accommodate groups of up to 24 guests.
Large traditional style living room with period features, plenty of soft seating and 2 bay windows with amazing views of the surrounding countryside.
Throughout the property there are a total of 5 smart TVs with free view and 3 iPod docking stations.

There is central heating throughout property and a log burning stove in the sitting room. One complimentary basket of logs supplied upon arrival.

Unfortunately the property is not suitable for disabled guests.

There is a lovely landscaped south facing garden, a patio area to the front and a sunken terrace to the side with separate Petanque court.
There is no swimming pool, but the nearby towns of Buxton and Bakewell both have public swimming pools.
Private parking for up to 12 cars.
Strictly no smoking inside the house.
We welcome pets but only by prior arrangement.


Nestled in the pretty hamlet of Priestcliffe with stunning views over the Peak District, Priestcliffe House is ideally situated to explore the towns of Bakewell and Buxton and Chatsworth House.
Both the towns of Buxton and Bakewell are 10 minute drive away. Buxton has greater amenities.
Nearest supermarket is in Buxton or there is a village shop in the nearby village of Ashford in the Water.
Nearest pub is The Queens Arms in Taddington or The Anglers Rest in Miller's Dale. The nearby towns of Bakewell and Buxton have a large variety of restaurants, cafes and bars.

Buxton train station is 7 miles away and has direct trains from Manchester. Macclesfield and Chesterfield stations are 17.5 miles and 19 miles away and both have direct trains from London.
The Transpeak (Manchester to Derby) bus route stops along the A6 near the turning for Priestcliffe or you can catch the bus in the nearby village of Taddington.
