Characterful holiday house in Kingussie sleeping 24 for family special occasions, weekend breaks and corporate team building events
Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. Railway Rooms, Kingussie, Inverness-shire, sleeps 12 - 24 in 12 bedrooms.
What a special and unusual space to spend a holiday or a weekend away celebrating a special occasion with family or friends. The house is dog-friendly too.
This station master's house provides a wonderful venue for multi-generational groups, friends, walkers, and cyclists in the heart of Kingussie in the Cairngorms. It is a great venue for business groups or retreats - with the opportunity to access our facilitation equipment and expertise for team building and development.
This is also a fantastic venue for climbing Ben Nevis and the munros in the area, and we have hosted groups undertaking these challenges for charitable purposes.
Head from the train station into the spacious and attractive living areas of the Railway Rooms. Relax and enjoy the occasional gentle hum of passing trains. We love the steam trains! The kitchen is well set up for preparing group meals with a range, dishwasher, microwave, and a handy hatch for serving food. Galley kitchens on each floor are useful for a quick coffee or snack. The lounge can accommodate everyone for inside dining and the tables can be cleared afterwards to create somewhere to relax and take in the mountain views. The space is flexible with a stunning vaulted ceiling and space for a retreat class or team-building activities. There is also an HDMI projector for a home cinema experience. Outside there is space to sit and for children to run around, as well as views onto the platform for train spotters.
The 12 bedrooms are cool clean spaces, a combination of kings, doubles, and twins for flexibility for a mixed group. Some are on the ground floor and 1 is accessible with a wet room for anyone with mobility limitations. There are modern en suites in each bedroom, all gleaming to keep everyone happy.
Kingussie is a great base for outdoor enthusiasts all year round to explore the Cairngorms, with sports including hiking, canoeing, climbing, gravel and mountain biking on the doorstep. Aviemore is nearby for skiing in winter with lots of amenities. Ruthven Barracks are worth a visit for anyone interested in historic attractions. Kincraig is a pretty village at the north end of Loch Insh, or you can visit the Highland Wildlife Park, Highland Folk Park, or several whisky distilleries nearby. Inverness is within reach for a day trip and offers a beautiful castle and museums.
