Le Relais du Buffarel is a traditional stone property dating from the 17th and 18th centuries, cool in a hot summer due to thick walls and an altitude of nearly 1000 metres. The house is arranged in 3 main sections offering lots of space and flexible accommodation, and well suited to friends and family groups. Located in the heart of the Grands Causses Regional Natural Park, in the beautiful Gorges du Tarn, it makes a great starting point for many activities including kayaking, climbing and fishing. The central part of the house includes a dining and living room, a small kitchen, a vaulted room. 3 bedrooms are also in this section: the mezzanine room above the main living area, the ground-floor alcove room, and the Aïeux room above the bathroom. Because of the thick stone walls, there are no internal doors in this section, but fabric curtains provide privacy for the bedrooms. To the right of the central section is the Great Stable, which has a large dining space, a lounge area and extra sleeping options with single beds and sofa beds. Nearby is the Causse Barn with 4 single beds and space for table tennis and table football. The Potier’s Room has a double bed, 2 single beds and its own bathroom. A west facing terrace with wooden tables is a pleasant spot for evening meals. A summer kitchen between the house and the pool provides extra cooking space, a perfect spot for a barbecue. And there's a shower and toilet for use when outside. The 11 x 5 metre pool sits in a wooded area, a highlight for family fun all day long. To the left of the main entrance is an independent room known as Scouts, with its own shower facilities, a sensible option for grandparents wanting a little privacy. Below the living room is the Bergerie, a dormitory with seven single beds that gives children and teens their very own den. The location offers access to canoeing, kayaking, hiking and via ferrata routes. For nearby cultural days out, head to the Aven Armand and Dargilan caves, Micropolis, Templar sites on the Larzac, the Millau Viaduct and the Roquefort cheese caves.
