Large luxury 19th century fishing lodge sleeping 12 in the beautiful Wye Valley, with large gardens and tennis court

Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends.
River Wye House, Brockweir, Wye Valley, Gloucestershire, sleeps 12 in 6 bedrooms.

River Wye House sits proudly above the River Wye, the birthplace of British tourism, and close to Offas Dyke path.

Boasting 7 acres to explore and close to the river and some glorious walks, with a tennis court on site and pet sheep and some ponies, this is the perfect weekend retreat or longer holiday destination for all seasons.

The house is warm and cosy in winter with three log burners and underfloor heating, and light and airy in the summer months. Six large bedrooms can sleep up to 16 people, the master enjoying an en suite and with 3 other bathrooms available. There are great views from all the large comfortable bedrooms.

Downstairs there is a spacious, bright kitchen that is well equipped with a double electric oven and hob, large American style fridge/freezer, microwave, slow cooker and a filter coffee maker. A large kitchen table with extra breakfast bar ensures there is plenty of space for informal meals. An open plan lounge with large, roaring wood burner, TV, comfy sofas and armchairs adjoins this area so that cooking, dining and socialising can be enjoyed by the whole family. The utility room where muddy boots and umbrellas can be left leads to the downstairs shower room/loo.

The drawing room provides a relaxing space to read or just chill out in front of the homely wood burning fire. With two Victorian bays at either end, and a large oak dining table that overlooks the side garden, this is a tranquil and peaceful room. The formal lounge with its period bay window is elegant and well furnished with comfy sofas, extra seating and another wood burner. It is also equipped with a large flat-screen TV.

Catering is available by arrangement for special dinners or celebrations.

River Wye House is brilliant for families and children, who love to explore our woodland areas. There is a tennis court on site, and fabulous walks from the house. Also some great pubs within easy reach.

The house is set within an excellent area for pursuing a wide range of outdoor activities including canoeing, fishing guide, cycling, all of them available nearby. Also close by is Tintern Abbey, the Welsh border and several sites of historic interest.
