This is a great opportunity for a full-on Downton Abbey experience in a fabulous County Meath country house. Rockfield House is a truly magnificent estate near Kells, set within 68 acres of rolling parkland and mature gardens. A great choice for multi generation families, friends, hens, corporate groups and celebrations of all kinds. Ask about our hen party packages, which offer a taste of life in a bygone age with plenty of fun and frolics thrown in. Have fun working as a servant through to living as a lady, with costumes, parlour games and fine dining.
The Doric portico entrance leads to the stunning entrance hall with marble fireplace and flagstone floor - gather here for a business drinks reception or some special occasion fizz. On this floor is an extensive lounge diner with wood stove, a well equipped self catering kitchen with Aga and the billiards room. A fantastic cantilever staircase leads to the 1st floor, where more impressive living spaces include a drawing room with grand piano, a library and dining room - all interconnected and perfect for formal events, with a service kitchen for catering staff (chef and housekeeper available on request).
Bedrooms are luxurious with a master suite on the 1st floor, and a suite and 5 more bedrooms on the 2nd floor accessed via a separate staircase. 1 ground floor two bedroom suite has external access, a good option for anyone less mobile. Facilities are plentiful but Pigeon deserves special mention with a huge walk-in shower and a jaw-dropping copper freestanding bath.
The courtyard apartment is also available to hire, a popular option for mixed age groups and those wanting their own place away from the bustle. It is fully self contained, very comfortable and works well with 3 generation gatherings.
The grounds at Rockfield are ideal for hikes from the door with a wander around the walled garden, or stop for a pint in Bray's Bar. Kells is a short distance away and interesting attractions including the Monastic Site and Spire of Lloyd as well as the Girley Bog Eco Walk.
