Rocombe Valley Retreat is situated at Stokeinteignhead, 10 minutes from Torquay, Newton Abbot, Teignmouth and 25 minutes from Exeter - a well centred site providing a great base for stag and hen parties, as well as friend and family groups. The site has 3 Yurts, 1 Safari Tent, and a Shepherds hut, sleeping a maximum of 20 people - available individually or as a whole site booking.
Nestled in the Rocombe Valley you will feel far away from busy life and at one with nature. Our 100 acre farm is full of nature and tranquility. Watch cows grazing with their young, and the sheep busy in the hill top fields, allowing you to fully relax and enjoy our site. Great for families, and special occasions, weekend breaks or a midweek getaway.
This glamping site is perfect for groups, with plenty of open space for games, a large communal kitchen area with fridges, freezers, cooking facilities, washing up and power supply for charging phones. Fire pits can be brought together along with benches from each unit to create a lovely BBQ experience if you wish. If you want some time to yourself, each accommodation has is own space along with a wood fired hot tub.
All units come equipped with made up double beds, wood burners to keep you cosy, a crate containing all the cutlery and crockery you could need. As well as this there are outside camp stoves to make a morning brew. Fire pits and BBQ grills also provided.
There are 3 toilet and shower units, with flushing toilets and hot showers.
We have a good relationship with a few local taxis who will be able to take you to and from the local areas nightlife if you wish.
Plenty of nice walks are reachable straight from the site, as well as some great routes offering challenging terrain suitable for keen mountain bike riders. Beautiful beaches are close by at Maidencombe, Shaldon, Teignmouth, Dawlish and Torquay - all a short journey away. Also nearby is Paignton Zoo, a must for all families!
There are 3 local pubs, including an 800 year old thatch cottage pub called the Church House Inn, a 15 minute walk away. A little further is the Wild Goose Pub, and at Maidencombe there is the Thatch Tavern, a great family friendly pub/restaurant.
