Situated in the heart of the Peak District, this former dairy farm provides flexible accommodation spread over 4 charming converted barns for up to 16 guests.

There are total of 8 individual decorated bedrooms all with en suites/private bathrooms, the break down is as follows:
The Milking Shed - sleeps 6 in 3 en suite bedrooms
The Old Dairy - sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms (1 en suite and 1 private bathroom)
The Coach House - sleeps 4 in 2 en suite bedrooms
The Byre - sleeps 2 in open gallery bedroom with private bathroom

All bedrooms have the flexibility of being made up as double or twin beds, ideal for all types of groups, family gatherings, friends get together and hen or stag groups.

Rowdale Barns provides the best of both worlds as groups of up to 16 can all gather, socialise and dine together in the Old Dairy, while guests also have the choice of separate living and dining spaces in the Coach House and the Byre. Perfect for extended family gatherings as guests have the choice to escape to their own private space to relax and unwind if they choose.

Picnic benches and a charcoal barbecue are also provided in the mature garden.

The property boasts direct access to the popular Monsal Trail, a former railway line that runs from Bakewell all the way to Blackwell, near Buxton, taking in some magnificent tunnels and stunning scenery along the way. Bikes can be hired from the nearby Hassop Station (less than 1 mile away) which is also a great spot to stop for a lunch. From your doorstep you can walk across the fields or along the trail to the nearby villages of Ashford in the Water and Great Longstone, both villages have a couple of great traditional style pubs perfect for sampling the local ales.

Rowdale Barns is centrally located within the Peak District National Park, only 3 miles away from the picturesque market town of Bakewell famous for its puddings, and is conveniently located for visiting the stately homes of Chatsworth and Haddon Hall.

We are happy to accept up to a maximum of 3 dogs at the venue. (Please note dogs are not allowed in the Coach House or the Milking Shed).

There is a large well equipped kitchen in the Old Dairy and a further 2 kitchens in the Byre and Coach House.

Dining Room

Large dining table in the Old Dairy for up to 16 guests to dine together. Both the Coach House and the Byre also have their own dining tables.

The main social living space is located in the Old Dairy, however there are 2 further lounge areas in the Coach House and the Byre.

TV and Music Facilities

3 TVs with Sky box (free channels only) and HDMI facility (located in lounge areas in the Old Dairy, the Coach House and Byre). Bluetooth speaker.

Central heating throughout the cottages - 2 log burners located in the Old Dairy and the Byre, 1 complimentary basket of logs supplied upon arrival.

Located just outside the pretty Peak District village of Ashford in the Water, only 3 miles away from the historic market town of Bakewell. Direct access to the popular Monsal Trail from the property.

  • The nearest bus stop is located in Ashford in the Water which is served by the Transpeak bus service.
  • Matlock, Buxton, Chesterfield and Sheffield.
  • The historic market town of Bakewell is 3 miles away with an abundance of shops, pubs, restaurants and a fantastic park for children to enjoy!
  • There is a great village shop selling local and fresh produce with a deli counter in the nearby Ashford in the Water. Alternatively the nearest supermarket is in Bakewell.
  • Nearest pub is The Bull, Ashford in the Water. Also a couple of great country pubs in the nearby village of Great Longstone or in the town of Bakewell.
  • Manchester Airport or East Midlands Airport.
