Rumwell Park is an outstanding Grade II listed mansion in Taunton built with Italian rococo villa style in 1857. It is located above Rumwell village, 1 mile from Taunton with its train station, shops and access to the M5.
Set in the rolling Somerset countryside, it is ideal for large gatherings as it is built to entertain large groups of family or friends, or for those seeking the perfect party venue. Rumwell Park comfortably sleeps 16-18 in a unique British environment.
We have had some wonderful events, from memorable wedding receptions, parties and meetings of friends.
This grand house with its 14 ft ceilings offers a beautiful drawing room and other plentiful living areas with sunny views across towards the Blackdown Hills and towards Exmoor. With a modern, fully fitted kitchen and temperature controlled wine thermidor, Rumwell Park is a great setting for those who love to cook, and likewise, if you’d prefer to have external caterers in, we can arrange superb chefs.
There is a bedroom on the ground floor, with 4 singles and an annex, on request. Upstairs there are 7 further bedrooms.
With such wonderful views and comfortable beds, this country house is where you can enjoy total rest and relaxation, and wind down by stepping into the wet room or soaking in the tub. There are 6 double bedrooms and one downstairs bedroom that can also be a twin room and a family room. A travel cot is available and we can accommodate most requests, and change bedroom set-ups (double/twin/cots etc). 21 to 24 is the maximum on special events.
With 3-acres surrounding the house, apple orchard, grand cedar and plum trees, plus an area to play football, you have plenty of space to enjoy. Fantastic walks from the house will give you a chance to explore the surrounding beauty and we can also recommend plenty of outdoor activities such as fishing, shooting, quad biking and horse riding across Exmoor or indoor lessons.
Located just three miles from the M5 at junction 25 or 26, halfway between the northern border of Gloucestershire and the southern tip of Cornwall.
