Once an old equestrian centre, it's now a welcoming base for outdoor enthusiasts, sports teams, schools, families and group gatherings. With accommodation for up to 140 guests, Salt & Fern is perfect for hiking trips, mountain biking weekends, surfing adventures, stag and hen groups, and anyone who would rather have mud on their boots than spend the day indoors. Set alongside a river and surrounded by woodland, the site has direct trail access to Cwmwernderi Reservoir, Kenfig Woods and Margam Park. After a day exploring, relax around the BBQs or fire pits and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Accommodation includes 16 self-catering cabins sleeping 4–8 guests, three dormitories sleeping 10 guests each, and The Longhouse, which sleeps 12. The cabins feature a bathroom, open-plan living area, kitchenette, and 2 or 3 bedrooms with single beds. The Longhouse offers 6 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, 2 lounges, a wood-burning stove and a fully equipped kitchen. The Watering Hole offers a commercial kitchen, dining area for around 50 guests and a riverside deck. Our marquee seats up to 140 people and is ideal for weddings, celebrations, sports presentations, workshops and group events. Both spaces are available to hire separately or with accommodation. We can provide catering for groups of 40+. We work closely with a trusted local activity provider who can arrange a range of land and water adventures, including gorge walking, coasteering, surfing, stand-up paddleboarding, rock climbing, paintball, archery and axe throwing. Suitable for groups of all ages and abilities, these activities are ideal for school trips, team-building events, family gatherings and celebrations. Activities should be booked at least 2–3 weeks in advance and are subject to availability. Simple, practical and surrounded by nature—Salt & Fern is built for adventure.
