Multi generation families and groups of friends will love the flexibility of the cottages or houseboats, and all are dog friendly as well.
The 3 cottages provide very comfortable accommodation with modern conveniences including well equipped kitchens and living areas. The 3 lounges have open fires for chillier evenings and private gardens with furniture for barbecues and al fresco meals. Teasel Cottage has a study on the ground floor that can be used as a wheelchair accessible bedroom. Bedrooms are a combination of kings, twins and doubles for the requirements of a mixed group. Riverside Cottage sleeps 8 and is ideal for 2 families staying together.
The 5 houseboats offer something a little different, with comfortable living, bedrooms and a good sized outside verandah for enjoying riverside life. When guests arrive at Simpson's Boatyard they are given a dinghy to have their own adventures on the water straight from their houseboat.
The Boatyard site itself has a small convenience store, with a restaurant due to open soon. Browse the Museum of the Broads, or keen fishermen can buy a permit in season from the 15th of June for on site angling. Or hire a boat or canoe from the Boatyard and explore the wider Broads at your own pace.
Sea Palling’s sandy beach is also just a 20 minute drive away, whilst Cromer and Great Yarmouth both offer traditional seaside attractions. Stalham is within walking distance for shops and pubs. Norwich is a 35 minute journey, well worth a visit to see the cathedral or to take the Norwich Hidden Street Tour.
