Stunning, Grade II-listed Solton Manor at East Langdon is situated just a couple of miles from the sea at St Margaret's and a quick 20 minutes drive from Canterbury via the A2, or why not bring your passport and pop over to France or Belgium for the day? London is readily accessible by high speed trains running from Martin Mill station. Nearby St Margaret's provides great local amenities with the Kentish towns of Deal, Dover and Canterbury also close at hand.

This exceptionally countryside manor house offers easy family living with elegant reception rooms for celebrations and entertaining. 

The manor house offers several reception rooms including a formal drawing room, study or sitting room and a kitchen/breakfast room as well as a games room, along with 10 bedrooms (plus a further one accessed via one of these bedrooms) in total.

The Dovecote Cottage has an open plan sitting/dining room/kitchen with 2 further bedrooms.

Outside there are 9 acres to explore, with a wildlife pond and moat with an ornamental bridge as well as gardens with lawns with flower and shrub borders and so much wildlife we recently won Bronze at the Kent Wild Trust Awards 2026.

All in all, this stunning house and estate make a splendid setting for a get together with family and friends, for corporate events and weddings.

On site is the Great Barn, a wonderful venue for a wedding party or celebration, able to seat up to 200 guests seated and 250 in the evening making it perfect for celebrations and corporate events

Of particular note in the interesting history of the house is the former owner, Sir John Finet, who was born at the manor and later inherited it. His grandfather had come to England with Cardinal Campeggio, married a maid-of-honour to Catherine of Aragon and settled there. The young Sir John was brought up at Court and later became Master of Ceremonies to both James I and Charles I. His portrait by Tintoretto hangs in the National Portrait Gallery.

- **Dog Friendly:** We do not allow pets in our Manor House. If you would like to bring a dog, our Dovecote Cottage accepts pets if you would like to hire as well.
- **Accessibility:** No specific facilities.
- **WiFi:** WiFi available in the Manor.
- **Kitchen:** Very nice modern airy kitchen fully fitted with top end appliances.
- **Dining Room:** The Manor boasts an ornamental fireplace and original medieval beams which makes this a very homely room.
- **Sitting Room:** Beautiful elegant sitting room with original beams and large fireplace, with windows overlooking the sweeping driveway and gardens.
- **TV and Music Facilities:** TV in the study/sitting room downstairs.
- **Games Room:** Double height games room with table tennis table, dart board and football table.
- **Heating and Open Fires:** House is central heated but unfortunately the fireplaces cannot be used due to safety.
- **Bedrooms:** The house boasts 10 double bedrooms, including our stunning Honeymoon Suite with four poster bed. The cottage has a further two bedrooms.
- **Linen:** All bed linen provided including towels.
- **Bathrooms:** Manor house has 5 bathrooms, Dovecote has 1 bathroom. Showers and baths available.
- **Children's Facilities:** There are cots and high chairs available. Please book in advance.
- **Outdoor:** Enclosed play area for children with small 3 floor children's wooden house and slide and swings. 2 ponds with fish. Huge gardens and paddocks.
- **Swimming Pool:** Enclosed hot tub. There is no pool.
- **Parking:** Plenty of parking on site.
- **Smoking:** There is a designated smoking area outside the house. Smoking is not allowed inside the house.
