Song House, which sleeps 14 people, is situated on the Wild Atlantic Way in County Donegal, surrounded by stunning beaches and mountains. The house has all the character of an old cottage, though with a large kitchen and sitting/games room.

Somg House offers a fabulous setting with much for any group to enjoy in the area; the house is close to extensive beaches, The Derryveagh mountain range, hiking and biking routes, surfing beaches, golf, kayaking, climbing, as well as fascinating off shore islands. It is situated within the Gaeltacht area of Donegal, where Irish is spoken as a first language. There is a fantastic music scene within the area, as well as many local festivals, cultural and social events. The whole area is steeped in history, archaeology and mythology, and is stunningly beautiful.

The house has recently been renovated to high environmental standards, including an air-sourced heating system and triple-glazed windows making it warm and cosy even in the Donegal winters.

Original art and photographs hang on the walls, with lots of books in the bookcases. All bedrooms are simply but aesthetically furnished, with spectacular views over Muckish mountain. Surrounded by an organic garden, with plentiful herbs and soft fruits in season, visitors can also make use of the fire pit on the terrace, an experience not to be missed on a clear moonlit evening, with views out to the mountain.

The Song House is a perfect place to get a way from it all.

The Song House has an interesting history. Formerly called the Poet's House, it welcomed poets from all over Ireland, US and UK. It is now a house full of song, as the present owner uses it part of the year for singing workshops, retreats and singing holidays.

Forms part of the kitchen. 16 can comfortably eat together.
The large sitting room doubles up as a games room, with sofas and armchairs. Possibility to use table tennis table, with owner's permission.
No TV, or music facility.

Large sitting room is the perfect place to play games. Table tennis may be available - please ask.
Air-sourced heating system, very ecological. Additional open fire in kitchen/diner.
1 double bedroom, 3 twin bedrooms (one with spare extra bed), 1 family room - 1 single, 2 bunk beds, 1 double bed. 1 bedroom is en suite.
All linen and towels included in price. Though if you want to swim, please bring extra towels.
3 bathrooms. 1 en suite to Bedroom 1, with shower. The other 2 bathrooms include large shower rooms.
There is disabled access to Workshop room, kitchen, bathroom and downstairs bedrooms.
No specific facilities for children.
Outdoor benches, organic gardens, terrace, lawn and flower beds, fire pit for barbecues with wall seating round.
There is no pool.
Parking for 6 cars.
This is a no smoking house.
No pets allowed.



The Song House lies on the world renowned Wild Atlantic Way, nestled in beneath Muckish Mountain. The nearby coast, with expansive and wild beaches, stretches for miles and looks out onto Tory Island.
The House is 2.3km from Falcarragh, a town with local shops and pubs, some serving excellent food.
Centra Falcarragh, 2.2km away.
The Loft in Falcarragh is 2.3km away and offers fantastic food, pints, regular live music at weekends; Gweedore Bar reccommended; Teach Coll, 8km away at Magheroarty, serves exceptionally good food.

Booking Information

25% non-refundable deposit required to secure your booking. Remaining 75% fee will be due 6 weeks before your arrival date. What is included in the price? All linen, towels, logs and peat. Arrival time: 3pm. Departure times: normally 11am, but for 2-3 day weekend breaks, we can be flexible.

No local station.
The town of Falcarragh is well connected to the rest of the country via buses which can leave you in the town which is 2.3km away; if required we can arrange transport from there to the house.
Donegal Airport in Carrickfinn is 31.1 km away.
