The Centre is suitable for a wide variety of groups including family gatherings and wedding parties, adult groups on retreats (yoga etc), youth groups and schools on educational and holiday trips. Its beautiful ornamental and wild gardens are situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to Fontmell Down, recognised as a Site of Special Scientific Interest. People of all ages find it a relaxing and enriching place to visit.

Springhead is a beautiful 7-acre estate in North Dorset on the borders of both Wiltshire and Somerset. Its stunning lakeside gardens are featured in the book "1001 Gardens You Must See Before You Die" by Rae Spencer-Jones.

When a group books the Centre, it has the exclusive use of the 7 acres of ornamental lakeside gardens and a choice of, or combination of, two styles of accommodation - Standard and Historic Extra:

Standard includes the 18th Century Mill Buildings, stable block accommodation and Trust's lakeside gardens. In the main Mill Building, there are two good-sized reception rooms upstairs which overlook the lake and gardens. The larger room, the Mill Room, can seat up to 55 people and is ideal for workshops and presentations. The Garden Room offers comfortable wicker chairs and French doors leading onto the gardens. On the ground floor there is a professional kitchen and a large dining room that opens on to a picturesque courtyard, where guests can enjoy eating al fresco in summer.

The Standard accommodation has bunk, single and twin bedrooms for up to 37 including an en suite twin bedroom in the Mill Building, which has disabled access and facilities.

The Historic Extra accommodation comprises 4 bedrooms for up to an additional 10 guests in spacious rooms in the Historic House. Perfect, too, for smaller groups of up to 6.

Two large reception rooms on the first floor of the historic Mill overlook the lake and gardens. The House has a further sitting room.

Bedrooms

The dormitories sleep up to 37 in a mix of bunkbeds and single beds. The historic house has 4 bedrooms, sleeping up to a further 10 people.

Linen

Linen is provided but you will need to bring your own towels and toiletries.

Bathrooms

The dormitories all have shower rooms and toilets. The Mill toilets include an accessible toilet with baby change facilities.

Outdoor

Seven acres of grounds including lakeside gardens, orchard and picnic tables. Designated fire pit area can be set up on request.
