Situated in one of Dorset’s most picturesque locations Springhead’s 18th Century Grade II listed Mill and Lakeside Gardens are set in a stunning 7 acre estate at the foot of the outstandingly beautiful Fontmell Down.

Springhead offers a truly magical place for an intimate wedding of up to 50 guests inside and 100 in a marquee on the lakeside lawn, which can include a civil marriage ceremony, blessing or vow renewal.

Unlike other venues, Springhead is exclusively yours to enjoy for a weekend, allowing you to decorate the rooms and prepare for your very special day in a relaxed and tranquil atmosphere. The rooms are a blank canvas for you to create your perfect wedding. Depending on availability, it is also possible to hire the venue for just the day.
The spectacular setting includes a splendid lake, a fusion on floral borders, wooden bridges over fresh water springs and an antique Italian rotunda with a grass amphitheatre. This provides the perfect romantic and unique backdrop for those once-in-a-lifetime photographs. The beautiful gardens are featured in the book “1001 Gardens You Must See Before You Die”.

Within the Mill there is a delightful and versatile Garden Room where you can do anything from relaxing with your guests to holding the ceremony itself; an expansive Mill Room which overlooks the lake and gardens and is perfect for a sit-down meal or buffet for 50 people; a separate room for dancing downstairs; a bridal retreat suite and full kitchen facilities.

Your time at Springhead will include exclusive use of the entire Mill Building facilities including kitchens and equipment, wedding crockery and cutlery, tables and chairs, accommodation for 38 people, the spectacular gardens and private parking facilities.
