## About The Property

St Michael's Environmental Education Centre is a high quality residential base, accommodating up to 38 people in 7 bunk-bedded rooms, varying in size from 2 to 10 beds per room (extra accommodation for 4/5 adults may be provided in the adjoining cottage for an additional cost). Groups have sole use of the centre during their stay.

Other facilities include:

- fully equipped kitchen including dishwashers, electric range cooker, heated cupboard, microwave, fridge and freezer (most groups self-cater but catering provision may be available at an additional cost)

- dining room/lounge area, including TV, DVD, video and music system

- separate male and female showers and toilets

- accessible facilities for disabled guests

- classroom/meeting room - please request when booking

- drying room with washing machines

Outdoor equipment can be hired (boots, rucksacks and waterproofs) and outdoor instruction provided at an additional cost.

Please note, we have a no smoking policy for the centre and grounds.

St Michael's Environmental Centre is an ideal base within easy reach of Chatsworth, the Upper Derwent Valley reservoirs, Stanage Edge and the caverns of Castleton, with limitless walking opportunities from the doorstep. The nearby summer open-air swimming pool and wide range of local amenities in the village (including plenty of options for eating out) provide an opportunity simply to relax and unwind.

Car parking is available at the centre for up to 12 cars, but it is not essential to have cars to explore this area. Hathersage is served by a regular bus service and the Hope Valley railway (connections to all stations between Sheffield and Manchester).

## Facilities

- **Dog Friendly:** No pets.
- **Accessibility:** Some bedrooms and all showers/toilets are on the ground floor, one shower room has seat in shower and a changing bed, level access to building.
- **WiFi:** Payphone 20 yards from Centre.
- **Kitchen:** Fully equipped kitchen with electric range cooker, hot-cupboard, microwave, fridge, freezer and dishwashers. Through to open plan lounge/dining area.
- **Dining Room:** Part of the open plan main room with tables and chairs to seat 40+ and freely able to be moved around to suit your plans.
- **Sitting Room:** Part of the open plan main room with reception chairs and coffee tables. In this area is the wall mounted Plasma TV with FreeSat.
- **TV and Music Facilities:** Plasma wall mounted TV with DVD player and facility to play games machines and laptops through it. Music player for radio and CDs.
- **Games Room:** In part of the open plan room there is a table tennis table and smaller games to use. Larger games (eg giant Jenga) are available.
- **Heating and Open Fires:** Full central heating.
- **Bedrooms:** 7 bedrooms sleeping from 2 to 10 people in bunk beds although the 2 x 2 bedded rooms can be single rooms as the top bed is a drop down type.
- **Linen:** All bed linen included, no towels are provided.
- **Bathrooms:** Showers in 3 separate areas. 1 bathroom has been modified to allow disabled access and has an electric changing bed, and a seat in the shower.
- **Children's Facilities:** No cots available although some dormitories have room for a travel cot. Games and books available.
- **Outdoor:** Yard/car park for outdoor games.
- **Swimming Pool:** No pool but there is a heated open air pool in the village 5 mins walk from the Centre, open late March to end of September.
- **Parking:** Parking for up to 12 cars.
- **Smoking:** No smoking in any buildings or within the grounds.
