The Stable Yard offers groups of guests the ability to socialise and dine together, whilst maintaining their own individual space, by providing individual studio apartments clustered around a communal sitting and dining area, The Collecting Ring. Situated on a working livery yard in the middle of 120 acres, The Stable Yard offers a relaxing alternative in a unique setting.

The Stable Yard currently offers eight individually designed self-catering studio apartments and a two bedroom apartment. Four studio apartments are located in the converted former coach house and have been sympathetically restored to retain many of the original beams. One of the apartments is split level, with the bedroom and bathroom upstairs, and living and kitchen area downstairs. The other apartments are all studio style, with the living and sleeping area all in the one area. Two studios are inter-connected, making them ideal for families.

A further four studio apartments are more modern in style, but all finished to the same high specification. The accommodation comprises both double and twin bedded apartments. Extra guest beds are available at no extra charge (subject to availability).

The two bedroom apartment was completed in 2015 and offers a double and twin bedroom, both with en suite. There is a separate sitting room with two sofas and a modern kitchen with integrated hob, cooker and dish washer. There is also access to a washing machine within the building.

The two bed apartment adjoins a large communal area, the Collecting Ring, with comfortable leather sofas and chairs set around a contemporary wood burner. The large dining room table will comfortably seat 12, with additional tables and chairs available on request. - a perfect space in which large groups can gather together.

Outside there is a garden area with a central fire pit around which a few glasses of wine can be enjoyed.

Accessibility

5 of the studio apartments are at ground floor level. There is small lip to negotiate when entering. Parking is directly in front of the apartments.

Pets are allowed on approval subject to an additional cleaning fee.

Studio apartments are fitted with cookers, fridge freezers. The 2 bed apt has an integrated hob, cooker, dishwasher and access to a washing machine.

Dining Room

There is a large dining table in the central communal area for guests to use. This can be booked exclusively, depending on availability.

Sitting Room

The 2 bed apartment has a separate sitting room. There is also a large communal sitting area with a wood burner that can be booked exclusively.

TV and Music Facilities

All rooms have a TV.

Heating and Open Fires

Large contemporary wood burner in the central communal sitting area with a fire pit in the garden.

Bedrooms

Twin or double studio apartments with additional single on request. Two bed apartment has double and twin bed rooms, with room for another single.

All studio apartments have dedicated bathrooms with baths and showers. The 2 bed apartment has 2 en suites with showers.

Location

The Stable Yard is set in 120 acres of rural Bedfordshire around 6 miles from J13 of the M1 and 14 miles from the Black Cat roundabout on the A1M. Woburn Safari Park is a 8.3 mile drive.

  • Bedford is a 7 mile drive with Milton Keynes 15 miles.
  • Wootton is just 1.7 miles away and can be reached cross country. It offers two local grocery stores, post office, fish & chip plus pizza takeaway. Sainsburys in Kempston is 4.3 miles away.
  • Wootton village has 4 pubs, we recommend the Leg Straps (2.3 miles away) for food. All the pubs can be walked to cross country with the Leg Straps the furthest at around a 45-60 min walk.
  • London Luton 24 miles, London Heathrow 53 miles, London Stansted 63 miles, East Midland 77 miles and Gatwick 91 miles.
  • Bedford is 8 miles away and has a direct line into London St Pancras and north to Lincoln and Derby.
  • Shelton village has the closest bus stop which is about a 20 min walk.
