We are a friendly, family run business and our holiday cottages near Bideford in Devon have been popular with visitors since the holiday lets started. We are open all year and our cottages are inspected annually by Visit England, achieving a rating of 3 and 4 stars.
The cottages are converted Victorian stone farm buildings and retain many original features including lovely beams and high ceilings. They are grouped around a gravelled courtyard, with extensive lawned areas and picnic benches in the shared gardens, with the grounds extending to around 6 acres. There's also a children's play area and trampoline, a paddock with rugby and football posts, and a dog walk around a tree plantation. There is plenty of space is available for parking and locked undercover storage for bikes.
The old Sheep Dip has been transformed into an indoor heated swimming pool, located in the old roundhouse of the farm and available between April and October inclusive.
The picturesque and secluded location of Stowford Lodge gives the perfect base for a leisurely and peaceful country holiday with many coastal, woodland and moorland walks in the surrounding area. The Tarka Trail long distance footpath and cycle way passes nearby and the Royal Horticultural Society gardens at Rosemoor are less than 2 miles away. Dartmoor and Exmoor are close by, and the beautiful Devon beaches are within 30 minutes drive.
