Stretton House provides an idyllic rural retreat for large gatherings of friends and family or corporate away days. Stretton House comfortably accommodates 30 (up to 34 guests when using sofa beds in the family rooms too) in luxurious surroundings, for that special weekend or mid-week break.

The whole party can comfortably dine at a single table in the conservatory which seats up to 32 guests. There is also an alternative dining option in the formal reception room seating 32 guests, this room can also be configured with a different arrangement according to your dining requirements or for a corporate gathering. Pre and post dinner drinks can be taken in the library, drawing room or the bar. In good weather, you can dine alfresco on the terraces with plenty of seating for all and cooking on the large charcoal barbecue. A choice of settings for celebratory dinners.

Privacy and tranquility can be enjoyed by all members of the family with croquet on the lawn, Pimms on the lake terrace and activities for the children.

Stretton House offers a formal sitting room with log fire, library, bar lounge, movie room with projector, conservatory and kids art room (including DVD and book library) as well as a games annex in the former coach house. With all this to offer, Stretton House is the ideal large holiday home and retreat for family and friends.

Corporate guests can enjoy privacy with multiple opportunities for break away groups and options for team building within the grounds.

Situated just 5 miles from the M1, access to this rural retreat is easy for groups meeting in the middle of England. Close to the Peak District National Park, the location is ideal for weekends away and holidays.

2 large dining kitchens with a full range of quality kitchen, crockery, glasses and cutlery. 2 range cookers, 3 dishwashers, 6 fridges and 2 freezers.

Large dining room that can seat all at a single table, a horseshoe or cleared away for a party. A second long table in the conservatory seats 32.

Sitting Room

Five reception rooms and spacious hallways. Large drawing room with Chesterfields, a bar lounge, library with club chairs, movie room and games annex.

TV and Music Facilities

Sky in the drawing room and HD projector room also on Sky. Further TVs in all bedrooms. Two static and 2 portable docking stations.

Games Room

A spacious two storey games annex with pool table, table football and table tennis.

Heating and Open Fires

Open coal fire in the drawing room and log burner in the movie room with a starter pack of logs and coal provided. Central heating.

14 bedrooms,10 en suite: 2 family rooms (4 poster + sofa beds), 2 bedroom family suite with King and 3/4 bed, 4 Kings, 3 double, 2 triple, 1 twin.

Linen

High end, professionally laundered bed linen and towels. Table cloths for both dining options together with napkins are also provided.

Bathrooms

12 bathrooms, 10 of which are en suite. The main rooms have rolltop baths and the additional 2 bathrooms both have baths.

Children's Facilities

Playroom with paints and games and large DVD collection. 2 high chairs and cots provided. Swings and slide outdoors as well as a number of games.

Outdoor

Seating for 32 at a single table on the rear terrace, a lounge area and lake view terrace together with a barbecue and huge lawns ideal for Croquet.

Swimming Pool

Nearest leisure centre with a pool is in Clay Cross, 1 mile away.

Parking

A private drive leading to adequate parking for all guests and access for large vehicles.

Booking Information

Changeover days for weekly stays exclude Saturday and Sunday. Late checkout for 2 night weekend stays of 4pm. Standard checkout 10am. £800 cautionary deposit and one third rental deposit payable upon booking and balance due 8 weeks prior to arrival.

The nearest village is Ashover (Village of the Year 2005). Main shops can be found in Clay Cross, Matlock or Alfreton some 6/7 miles away. The market town of Chesterfield lies 7 miles to the north.
400 metres to the nearest convenience store with a large Tesco supermarket within 5 minutes drive at Clay Cross. Out of town and town centre shopping at Chesterfield.
Half a mile from the White Bear at Stretton with many more within 3 miles including good restaurant pubs at Wooley Moor and Ashover some 3 miles away.
East Midlands 45 minutes, Birmingham 1 hour, Leeds Bradford 1.5 hours.
Chesterfield is 7 miles with regular mainline trains to London and the North.
400 metres to bus stop on the A61 with services to Chesterfield, Alfreton, Derby and Sheffield.
