Our traditional handcrafted Mongolian yurts provide luxury glamping in the heart of the English countryside on the Suffolk/Essex border. Just over 1 hour from London. Set in 9 acres of beautiful private grounds, overlooking a small well stocked lake. (Sorry no fishing). Guests are spoilt for choice with the extensive rural views and wildlife to enjoy. See bats, foxes and even badgers. For complete authenticity there is no electric in the yurts. But lots of places to charge mobiles so don't panic, and there's free WiFi too.
Perfect for friends, hen groups, family groups, or couples looking for a romantic break. All yurts are well equipped and all bedding is provided. Each has a log burning stove & gas BBQ (wood & gas provided). Option to add use of our outdoor hot tub.
Opposite the yurts is a luxury toilet and shower block. With separate male and female facilities & plenty of hot water. Towels are not provided but can be hired.
Guests can enjoy complimentary use of the fully equipped indoor games room. Outside play giant chess
or choose from a range of garden games.
Guests can also enjoy use of a large lounge area, adjacent to the games room. Relax have a drink, or watch a film.
We can provide on site activity packages such as 'It's A Knockout', archery, an assault course or even afternoon tea. There's something on offer for every member of the group without leaving the site, but if you do want to venture out, the local pub, is only a 15 minute walk from Suffolk Retreats, serving great food and top class ales.
Visitors wishing to explore the surrounding area will enjoy Clare, the smallest town in Suffolk with the Priory, Country Park, and walks. Cavendish has plenty of antique shops, designer boutiques and popular pubs. Kentwell Hall and the National Trust's Melford Hall are a 20 minute drive from Suffolk Retreats too.
Slightly further afield is Bury St Edmunds with its extensive shopping area, Abbey & gardens.Take a trip to the famous Newmarket Racecourse, or visit the university city of Cambridge, maybe try a punt on the River Cam.
