One big plus is the fact that the the smaller Surf Bay Lodge offers choice and a bit of privacy for those who want to be part of the gang but would like somewhere quiet to retreat. The impressive gated entrance leads to secure parking and fabulous accommodation inside and out. Relaxed seating next to the outdoor heated pool offers a lovely spot for guests to gather in order to plan the day's activities. The luxury hot tub is perfect for relaxing at the end of a busy day out. With the facilities on offer at Surf Bay, it is hardly surprising that many guests are happy not to go far at all. Hours of fun can be spent playing in the pool, topped off by an evening barbecue on the patio and another dip in the hot tub bubbles. The games and cinema room is where the youngsters might head after food to play pool or table tennis before settling down to watch a movie. On warmer evenings it is really pleasant sitting outside on the patio, otherwise the lounge is a comfy space to chill out and watch some TV. Bedrooms are a convenient mix of kings and superkings that can be configured as twins, important for a mixed gathering. 3 of the rooms can be entered from the pool side through French doors and 2 share a ground floor bathroom. Appledore itself is a delightful fishing village full of pretty houses and bobbing boats, the place to jump on a ferry across to neighbouring Instow.
