The owners at Sutton Barton Farm have created some fantastic holiday accommodation near Honiton for multi generation families and friends. The traditional 16th century farmhouse is filled with gleaming flagstone floors, roaring open fires and original beams, complimented by a contemporary games room, bar and skittle alley. Outside, there is a lovely secluded barbecue area with furniture, 2x 6 seater hot tubs and a sauna for relaxation while the kids head to the play area or run around on the lawn. This really is a gem of a property, guaranteed to please all ages.
The kitchen comes fully equipped for preparing large meals, a sociable room to cook and chat with pretty views across the courtyard. The dining room is a great spot for everyone to eat together next to the open fireplace before opting for post dinner chill time in the spacious lounge or some fun in the new games room. Organise some family pool, ping pong or a good old fashioned game of skittles.
On long summer evenings the kids will spend hours in the play area on the sunken trampoline, sand pit and climbing frame. Just behind is a bridle path, a 30 minutes circular walk bound to tire even the most energetic of dogs before bed. This is a working farm so please remember to keep dogs on a lead and clear up any mess.
The master bedroom kingsize on the top floor has a very impressive curved ceiling with beams and French chic design, oozing luxury and comfort. A really special place to sleep. The family rooms and twins have plenty of space with classic soft furnishings and bathroom towels. All 6 rooms have en suites, helpful for a mixed gathering to prevent queues for the loos. One of the bathrooms has a gorgeous freestanding bath.
Sutton Barton Farmhouse is a great base for exploring Devon, Somerset and Dorset with its border location. Honiton is a nice little town to visit with an array of independent shops and cafes to explore and boasting a top rated golf course. A seaside day out at delightful Lyme Regis on the Jurassic Coast is a 25 minute jaunt for a sandy beach and the famous Cobb. There are also some lovely bars and restaurants overlooking the sea for fresh fish and chips.
