## About The Property

Looking for a base for an activity-led break with a group of friends in the glorious landscape of Derbyshire? Then the Monsal Trail (with cycle hire at either end) is a perfect starting point for a journey through fantastic scenery as you pass over the Headstone Viaduct and skirt along the the disused railway line all the way into Bakewell. This is also walking country - and with Lathkill Dale National Nature Reserve within walking distance, be sure to pack some sturdy footwear.

Swallow Barn is great for family groups who would enjoy spending days in quaint villages with traditional country pubs and tearooms, stately homes and atmospheric market towns, or picnicing by and paddling in the river. With Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall for historic splendour, Ashford in the Water and Great Longstone on the doorstep and Matlock, Bakewell and Buxton a short drive away, this is the venue for parents, children and their grandparents.

Built from local limestone, Swallow Barn lies in the heart of Monyash village, perfectly positioned to soak up the rural ambience of Derbyshire village life, with The Old Smithy Tearooms (a popular stopping point for those enjoying a walk through Lathkill Dale), The Bull's Head pub and a childrens' playground next door to each other. The property, with its landscaped private garden and 32' open-plan living and dining areas, provides a peaceful and tranquil setting for a totally relaxing holiday.

With 5 beautifully furnished bedrooms (one with additional bunks), stylish and modern bathrooms/shower rooms (3 en suite) and three separate but adjoining lounge areas with comfy sofas, there is ample space in which to relax, socialise and soak up the character of this delightful house. Please note bedroom 1 is located on the ground floor and is a compact room with fixed double bed and limited storage, the room has character features including a slight stone overhang windowsill near to the head of the bed.

After all this fresh air, and maybe a trip to Bakewell Market or Chatsworth Farm Shop for some local produce, catering will be a breeze in the thoroughly modern kitchen, equipped with everything you need to rustle up a feast for hungry mouths.
