## About The Property

Sleeps 2 to 50 in historic manor house with 8 individual cottages sleeping between 2 and 6 guests each:

Swansea Valley Holiday Cottages are situated in the grounds of the historic Plas Cilybebyll estate. The picturesque River Clydach runs through the manor house complex with cottages which are dotted around the courtyard, farmyard and gardens.

The group of converted estate outbuildings make an ideal base for a family get together - the courtyard cottages are traditional whilst the farmyard cottages are very contemporary and minimalist in style. All the cottages are renovated to a very high standard with each one having their own unique features. Bwthyn Y Saer is all ground level. Y Stabl has a log fire, four poster bed and riverside hot tub. Lloc Llo has a riverside terrace. Ty Gambo sleeps 6 and has its own enclosed garden with barbecue. Five of the cottages are pet friendly and all of them have parking right outside the cottage door.

Extensive private grounds include a tennis court and lawn areas with seating and views over the surrounding parkland. The setting is peaceful and very relaxing - the sound of birdsong around the cottages, sheep grazing the parkland and the tinkling mountain river that runs through the property.

The cottages enjoy a superb central South Wales location - ideal for seeing the many and varied attractions that South Wales has to offer - the Brecon Beacons mountains, Gower Peninsula, Waterfall Country, Carreg Cennen Castle, the National Showcaves and the cities of Swansea and Cardiff to name but a few. The cottages have a very famous black folder in them with suggested itineraries and lots of local travel tips and information. There is also a book that accompanies a farm trail which starts on your cottage doorstep and takes you up the mountain where there are panoramic views of the Swansea Valley, Brecon Beacons, Bristol Channel and on a clear day Narnia!

There are pubs and restaurants in the nearby villages - a major 24 hour supermarket just over a mile away. Our free WiFi network is excellent and there is good mobile phone signal at the farm.

## Facilities

- **WiFi:** Excellent free WiFi throughout the cottages and outside on the farmyard, courtyard and lawn areas. There is very good mobile signal at the farm.
- **Accessibility:** Bwthyn Y Saer and Nant Y Plas are all ground level (disabled access level 2) - suitable for wheelchair users with assistance.
- **Dog Friendly:** Pets are allowed in Bwthyn Y Saer, Y Stabl, Yr Hen Ysgol, Nant Y Plas and Ty Cerbyd at a cost of £4 per pet per night.
- **Kitchen:** All properties are very well equipped with high standard appliances. Y Stabl, Ty Cerbyd, Ty Gambo and Lloc Llo all have dishwashers.
- **Dining Room:** Plas Cilybebyll Manor House has a separate Orangery which can be used for group dining. Individual cottages typically have kitchen or lounge diners.
- **Sitting Room:** All cottages have a living room with comfy chairs, widescreen HDTVs with Freesat. The living room in Ty Gambo is on the first floor.
- **TV and Music Facilities:** Our cottages have excellent quality widescreen HDTVs with Freesat. Lloc Llo and Ty Gambo have 4K sets. There are also CD radios in the cottages.
- **Games Room:** There is no games room but all cottages have access to a tennis court.
- **Heating and Open Fires:** All the cottages hot water and heating is supplied by a renewable biomass system. Y Stabl, Hafod Y Wennol and Yr Hen Ysgol have wood burning stoves.
- **Bedrooms:** All master bedrooms have king sized beds apart from Bwthyn Y Saer which has a double. Y Stabl has a four poster master. Other bedrooms are twins.
- **Linen:** All linen and towels supplied free of charge.
- **Bathrooms:** The courtyard cottages have bathrooms with over bath showers. The farmyard cottages have contemporary wet rooms with walk in showers.
- **Children's Facilities:** Cots and stair gates available on request.
- **Outdoor:** Extensive shared lawn areas with tennis court. Some have private enclosed garden/riverside patio. Barbecue available. Alfresco group dining.
- **Swimming Pool:** Plas Cilybebyll Manor House has a stunning 10m x 4m heated indoor pool with exposed 15th century stone walls . Y Stabl has a riverside hot tub.
- **Parking:** There is unlimited free parking at the farm. It is possible to park right outside your cottage door.
- **Smoking:** Smoking is not allowed inside the properties.

Idyllic, secluded rural location at the very heart of South Wales between Brecon Beacons mountains and Gower coast. Superb transport links – just 15 mins from the South Wales to London M4 motorway.

### What's Nearby?

- **Location:** The nearest town is Pontardawe which is just over a mile away in the valley bottom. Here you will find all modern amenities including a 24 hour supermarket, pubs and restaurants.
- **Shop:** The nearest shop and post office is a mile from the farm in the village of Rhos. There is also a petrol station and good fish and chip shop in Gellinudd which is also a mile from the cottages.
- **Food and Drink:** There are a couple of gastro pubs around a mile and a half from the cottages, a good fish and chip shop a mile away and some great Indian restaurants in Pontardawe which is also just over a mile away.
- **Airport:** Cardiff Wales Airport is approximately 1 hour (50 miles) from the holiday cottages.
- **Train:** Neath Train Station is the nearest mainline station - around 5 miles from the cottages. Trains depart from Neath at least once an hour for Cardiff, London Paddington, Manchester and West Wales.
- **Bus:** The nearest bus stop is a mile away, opposite Rhos Stores convenience store and post office. Turn left at the end of the farm drive and walk downhill for about 10 minutes to reach the shop.
