A tall ancient wall with buttress supports separates the grassy area in front of the house into 2 and acts as a wind break for both lawns there. Both lawns are great for socializing although please respect any nesting birds in the fruit trees. Beyond a smaller wall at the front lies the vegetable garden, and then a field which is also part of the property. To the rear is a private driveway with a discreet gate leading to the Church whose steeple bell was famously rung in 1513, after the battle of Flodden. Tall beech and oak trees, home to wood pigeons and thrushes, add shelter and beauty to this rural holiday home. Rolling fields and ancient farmland lie to the north of the property, and beyond that the romantic Lammermuir Hills.
Further afield, there's plenty for guests to enjoy too. A couple of golf courses are nearby, along with fishing opportunities. And Kelso is within easy reach for horse racing and several other attractions. There's lots of local history to explore too.
