Our three cottages are designed to provide the perfect place for families and friends to get together and have fun. They are light, spacious and have a balance between shared living spaces and privacy. The three cottages can be booked independently or interlinked; and offer one large living room (with custom-made dining table) and two cosier sitting rooms.
All our cottages are heated from locally sourced wood through underfloor heating from our great beast of a wood boiler, to keep you snug and the water piping hot. Each cottage also has its own wood-burning stove for that homely glow.
The barns can be rented individually or joined together, providing accommodation for groups of up to 20. If you would like, we can open connecting doors between them all. There is a central living and dining area for special moments with your nearest and dearest.
You're welcome to wander round the farm, including our ancient orchard, fields, rewilding ponds and organic plant nursery. If you're looking for plants or advice, Nessie will be pleased to help! Our main field provides 3 acres of space for games and there are fabulous walks and cycling opportunities all around.
Our local pub (with excellent beers, wine and food) is only a short walk away and nearby historic Wirksworth's independent shops, restaurants, cafes and pubs are just 5 minutes drive away. History buffs will love the Chatsworth and Haddon estates (play spot the film location!) or exploring Richard Arkwright's mills in the birthplace of industry, nearby Derwent Valley. Crich Tramway Village offers a fun multigenerational day out, riding restored trams, playing in the woods and visiting reconstructed heritage buildings from all over Britain.
Each cottage has its own outside seating and barbecue facilities and there's a shared fire pit for those wanting to make the most of long summer nights, or stoke up the fire for the cooler ones.
There is parking for as many cars as you need to bring.
We also offer a unique countryside venue for family and friends get-togethers, big birthdays and other special events.
