In the heart of Eryri National Park (Snowdonia) and on the edge of the peaceful village of Llanelltyd you will find the gorgeous Tan Llan and neighbouring Coach House. Situated in 15 lovely acres of grounds and gardens, this holiday house for multi generational families and friends is set between the dramatic mountain scenery of Eryri and Cadair Idris and the beautiful beaches of north Wales, with easy access to Barmouth and Harlech and the pretty town of Dolgellau.
The main house retains many of its 18th century original features including sash windows and shutters but has been renovated to create a contemporary feel. The quality modern kitchen diner can seat everyone for dinner and there's a cosy lounge with seating for 13 guests in front of an open fire. The 6 bedrooms provide flexible accommodation offering 4 kings, a super king and a twin. The master bedroom occupies a separate wing accessed by a private corridor, a tucked away luxurious room with attractive views and a roll top for a long soak. Bedrooms are decorated individually, with Melyn Tregwynt Welsh blankets for a special touch.
The characterful Coach House is a gorgeous transformation with beams and feature walls, supplementary accommodation for grandparents or a young family needing their own space. Living areas benefit from underfloor heating with a stylish kitchen diner and adjoining snug with a wood burner. The 2 bedrooms, both en suite, continue the tradition of Welsh soft furnishings.
The games room is a fantastic communal space for fun and friendly competition, and somewhere to head to when the weather isn't playing ball. If the sun shines, open the garden room doors to the traditional slate patio area, an ideal spot to relax with a glass of wine whilst watching the local wildlife and catching up.
Dolgellau is popular with walkers and cyclists. Follow the flat Mawddach Trail between Dolgellau and Barmouth for a gentle ride or head for Coed y Brenin Mountain Bike Centre for downhill adventure routes. And there are plenty of other adrenalin-fuelled activities in the area too, including zipwires, caving and canyoning, watersports and climbing.
