Situated in the quiet village of Shillingford is this fantastic Georgian house, The Elms, providing spacious accommodation for 2 - 10 people plus 2 infants in cots. Ideal for friends and families wishing to holiday together to enjoy the beautiful countryside or travel around Devon and visit its highlights and attractions, sophisticated celebrations, reunions and corporate breaks.

The Elms has been sympathetically styled to combine traditional charm with modern day comforts. This lovely holiday house near Tiverton is a great place to bring family together.

The heart of The Elms has to be the large open plan kitchen/dining room - a light and airy space extending across the house. It's the ideal place for everyone to gather, cook and enjoy a meal together. Or why not use a local fine dining company to cook your dinner while you relax. The lounge has comfortable seating a wood burning stove, cosy in winter.

This impressive house has the added bonus of a cellar which is now a games room. Together you can enjoy a friendly game of pool, table football or table tennis. Or relax and unwind in our 6 person hot tub. New for 2024 is our lovely orchard, with a children's adventure play area and space for guests to play outdoor games.

Two master bedrooms have private en suite facilities and underfloor heating, each with charming traditional decorative fireplaces. These front facing rooms overlook the countryside. Three out of four bedrooms have zip link beds - flexible for multi-generational groups and mixed bookings, they can be made up as either superking or twin depending on your group dynamics. One room also has bunk beds.

There is one family bathroom conveniently placed between two bedrooms comprising separate bath and shower and with heated towel rail.

There is ample parking available for all our guests staying at The Elms.

The historic charter town of Bampton is just 2 miles away and provides a few lovely independent shops, cafes and pubs.

Lovely country walks are all around, and Exmoor is only a short drive away for outdoor adventures.

Flat screen TV with firestick, giving you access to your on demand TV and Netflix account.

Open kitchen/dining room for 10 guests, 'the heart' of The Elms. Gather, cook and enjoy a meal together.

Sitting Room

Comfortable seating. Cosy up in front of the wood burning stove. We will supply you with ample logs and kindling for your stay.

Games Room

Enjoy a friendly game of pool, table tennis and table football.

Kitchen

Kitchen with ample cooking utensils for large groups. Electric oven & dishwasher. Fridge freezer and washing machine can be found in the utility room.

Smoking

No smoking. This includes vaping and e-cigarettes. Designated smoking area outside only.

Heating and Open Fires

Radiators throughout. A wood burning stove in the lounge with free kindling and logs for the duration of guest stay.

Children's Facilities

2 travel cots and high chairs available by arrangement. Stair gates provided. Outside play area with climbing frame.

Nearest indoor swimming pool is in Tiverton. Nearest outdoor seasonal swimming pool is in Wiveliscombe.

Tennis Court

Nearest tennis court is in Wiveliscombe and Tiverton.

Booking Information

Check-in is from 4pm until 10pm
Check-out is 10am.
We operate a self check-in using a lockbox.
We have a 2 night minimum stay during off peak times and 3 nights during peak season.
A 20% deposit is required to confirm the booking with the balance to be paid in full 4 weeks before check-in.
A refundable damages deposit of £500 is also payable with the balance.
Payments can be made with a debit/credit card or bank transfer.

Shillingford, close to the border with west Somerset. Near Bampton with its lovely independent shops, cafes and pubs. Tiverton and Jn 27 of the M5 is 9.5 miles away. Easy access to the beautiful Exmoor National Park with its hilly, open topped moorland, woodland, coast and rivers. Picturesque market towns and villages of Dulverton, South Molton, Withypool and Exford, and some lovely country pubs all located within Exmoor. The north Devon coastlines with its Sandy beaches inc Saunton Sands, Croyde, Woolacombe and Westward Ho!, and fishing villages of Appledore, Lynton, Lynmouth, Clovelly and Porlock. There are lots of National Trust properties and ample entertainment parks, including The Big Sheep, The Milky Way and Creally.
