This family and friends holiday house near Burnham-on-Sea and the coast works very well for everyone meeting up for a special occasion as well as being in close proximity to wonderful hiking and cycling on the Mendips, the Quantock Hills and the Somerset Levels wetlands. The Farmhouse is just 15 minutes from the M5 making it an easy destination for guests travelling from different parts of the UK. Plus it's dog friendly.
The Farmhouse, all on the ground floor, is a comfortable choice at any time of year, with summer barbecues in the garden and a cosy wood burner when it's cooler. The kitchen diner has enough space for everyone to sit down together to eat. On warmer evenings, open the French doors into the garden for a barbecue and some serious marshmallow toasting on the firepit. The 6 seater Jacuzzi hot tub with lights is wonderful for relaxing with a drink in hand while star gazing.
Inside, living spaces are warm and comfortable. Sit back on soft sofas in the lounge next to the cosy wood stove, chatting with friends and making memories. The conservatory also has plenty of seating for those who fancy some quiet, curling up with a good book or listening to music.
The ground floor master bedroom has a characterful 4 poster bed, TV and en suite bathroom. It also opens out onto the garden, handy for grandparents or young families. The other ground floor twin rooms share a tiled wet room.
The Shepherd's Hut is just a few steps away from the main house and offers additional sleeping accommodation only.
There is an activity centre just a few minutes away (100 metres) from The Farmhouse offering paddle boarding, canoeing and kayaking on the River Brue. A circular river walk nearby might be a popular option with a stop off at the farm shop and bar. The Somerset Levels are a playground for outdoor and wildlife enthusiasts and there are many pretty villages nearby with country pubs worth exploring. A day at Brean Sands or Weston super Mare is guaranteed to keep the kids happy and only a 25 minute car ride away.
Please note that the owner lives on the upper floor of the house, but with a totally separate entrance and facilities.
