Lower Cwmcadarn Farm was as an old hilltop farm with 360-degree views of the Black Mountains, Hay Bluff and surrounding countryside in an elevated position at 250 metres above sea level. The farm is the perfect base for exploring locally and further afield, by foot, cycle or car, only 11 miles from historic Brecon with shops, galleries, museums and restaurants and bistros, and 5 miles to the fabulous literary town of Hay on Wye, with book shops, independent boutiques, coffee shops and restaurants. Lower Cwmcadarn Farm is near a local riding school for those wanting to trek over the Hay Bluff.
Talgarth is 4 miles away with a Co-op store for general provisions and a bakery, butchers, deli and greengrocers.
This is the perfect base for exploring the National Park. Walks popular with our guests are the Four Waterfalls, Gospel Pass, Lord Herefords Knob (The Tumpa), Hay Bluff, and of course Pen y Fen. Popular nearby activities for families include the Small Animal Farm at Kington, Black Mountain Activity Centre, Wye Valley Canoes, and Tregoyd Mountain Riders Pony Trekking.
