Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. The Lodge at Chateau de Surosne, Clecy, Normandy, France, sleeps 6 - 8 in 3 bedrooms.

Set in the grounds of Chateau de Surosne in Normandy, this fully refurbished, detached holiday lodge sleeps up to 10 guests in 4 bedrooms (one attached mezzanine room). There are two bathrooms and a downstairs WC. The ground floor is a large open-plan area with extending dining tables and Lloyd Loom chairs. The comfortable lounge area has soft, velvet sofas set around a huge open fire. The flat screen TV offers entertainment options including Netflix.

The fully fitted kitchen has an induction hob, oven, fridge-freezer, microwave, dishwasher and Nespresso coffee pod machine. Also included are cooking pots, serving dishes, crockery and glassware, towels, loo rolls and cleaning equipment.

There are two outdoor terraces. The front terrace is covered so that you can dine outside regardless of weather. Here there is also a lounging area with BBQ and fire pit. At the rear is the perfect private sunbathing area complete with loungers and even a bar.

The house is located just 40 minutes south of the golden D-day beaches and ferry, and also near Bayeux where you can view the famous tapestry of the same name. This area is known as Swiss Normandy (so named for its similarity to Switzerland), and has a landscape of rolling hills and striking cliff faces, unique in northern France. A mile from the house you will find the pretty town of Clecy with its traditional boulangerie, patisserie and numerous cafe bars. Pause in the historic square and enjoy a drink or coffee in the sunshine. A range of shops in Clecy sell unique and vintage items.

Just outside Clecy is a majestic viaduct spanning the river Orne, with more bars and restaurants lining the rivers' edge. You can sign up for watersports including kayaking, or even something more adventurous such as paragliding, or try the 'Via Ferrata', a rock climbing adventure which ends with a thrilling zip wire down to the bottom (for the very brave). There are also many wonderful cycling and hiking trails locally.
