The Mill House Isle of Wight is a great family holiday home in Brighstone, perfect for celebrations and breaks away. This Georgian Grade 2 listed farmhouse is an idyllic venue for bringing together multi generational families and groups of friends. It's a 10 minute walk into the local village Brighstone for shops, a pub and a great beach so no need to use the car. 2 well behaved dogs welcome.
Living areas are elegant and comfortable, with wood and stone floors and cosy rugs. The handmade kitchen is well equipped and has all appliances you need for self catering, including a dishwasher, electric AGA and fan oven plus induction hob, making it easy to prepare meals for the group. Dine at the sociable oak dining table and catch up over great food and wine, lighting the wood stove for added ambience if it's chilly outside. A choice of 2 lounges is helpful for a mixed group, one an elegant space with original Georgian shutters, an open fireplace and comfortable seating, the other a snug with Smart TV and wood stove plus games and books to keep the children entertained.
Outside there's a patio with dining furniture for al fresco meals and a gas barbecue, a great spot for enjoying an early evening drink while the children and dogs let off steam on the large lawn space. Relax and enjoy the fresh sea air.
The bedrooms are a useful combination of kings, double, twins and bunks including a very special 4 poster, all stylish and pretty rooms with crisp white bed linen and gorgeous rural views. Bathroom facilities are plentiful, contemporary rooms with showers or luxury baths.
The Mill House Isle of Wight is unsurprisingly set in an AONB, with walking and cycling paths from the door. Compton, Totland and Colwell are a short drive away for a family beach day on sandy bays with safe bathing. Pretty little towns include Freshwater, Ventnor and Yarmouth with a range of shops and restaurants, children and dog friendly. Visit Newport for impressive architecture, tourist attractions and a feel good vibe with lots of choice for eating out.
