The Old Georgian Rectory Manor House sleeps 12 in 6 bedrooms

This stunning bow fronted Georgian country house has recently had a major facelift to create a fantastic family holiday house on the edge of the Forest of Dean, perfect for multi generational groups and friends getting together for a break away or to celebrate a special occasion. Close to Chepstow and Tintern, this is a fantastic base for exploring the Wye Valley which is popular with walkers and outdoor enthusiasts and filled with historic attractions. Bring up to 2 well behaved dogs. Private yet only 15 minutes from the M4/M5 with good rail connections.

The Old Rectory sits within south facing grounds, with a 4 acre wild flower meadow and surrounding gardens creating a private venue. Outside lounges, one under a gazebo and the other off the drawing room, are wonderful places to relax on warmer days or for a barbecue, with the option of hiring in a hot tub for added indulgence.

The choice of reception rooms makes this perfect for a multi generational gathering. Gather in the drawing room for drinks, or relax in the family lounge with a huge L shaped sofa and vast TV for a great cinema experience. The snug is a cosy room with TV and wood burner perfect for chilling out with a good book or somewhere for the youngsters to congregate. The kitchen is fully kitted out with an Aga, island and high end appliances, with a breakfast room table and chairs for less formal meals. Dine inside at the sociable round formal dining table seating 10, ideal for a big birthday feast.

Bedrooms have been designed with style and luxury in mind, a tasteful use of decor, light giving windows and amazing views of the grounds and gardens. The Striped Bedroom has a 4 poster with southerly views to the river and meadow. Some are dual aspect and most have impressive en suites offering baths and showers.

There are lots of walking trails and cycling routes nearby and this is a good area for kayaking and fishing on the River Severn. The Forest of Dean is home to Yat Rock, Puzzlewood and Tintern Abbey, all worthy of a spot on your itinerary.
