Stunning architectural house set on 80 acres of Surf Coast hinterland, near the Great Ocean Road and sleeping 10
Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. The Wensley, Surf Coast, Victoria, Australia, sleeps 4 - 10 in 3 bedrooms.
Set high on the rolling Surf Coast hills, The Wensley is a bespoke timber, architectural house and shed built from recycled Oregon and Ironbark.
The Wensley is a haven of peace and serenity in a secluded but central pocket of the Surf Coast Hinterland called Wensleydale, offering you a chance to chill out and stay put or explore The Great Ocean Road and surrounding countryside with complete privacy.
You'll have exclusive access to the 80-acre property and use of the house and adjoining shed. The maximum occupancy is 10 guests with 5 beds in total. We have two bedrooms downstairs and a spacious loft bedroom upstairs housing ground-level bunk nooks.
Wensleydale is an easy 1.5 hours drive from Melbourne via the M1 and a short drive to many places:
- 20 mins to Aireys Inlet
- 15 mins from Moriac and Winchelsea
- 20 mins to Birregurra and Brae
- 30 mins to Fairhaven
- 30 mins to Lorne
Inspired by the iconic Australian shed and American ski chalets, The Wensley is a perfect place to stay or utilise as a backdrop for brand photoshoots to capture a unique feel without far to travel.
As you enter, the view through the valley is framed by a timber bridge which links the house and shed. The house has been designed, constructed and decorated in great detail. Bringing the outside inside; the high ceilings, floor-to-ceiling windows and natural finishes create an airy, uncluttered, beautiful space to breathe and escape the trappings of city life.
The open plan design of the chef’s kitchen, lounge and dining area offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, while the shed houses a breakout TV area and laundry.
