Dating back to the 16th century, Topside House has recently been brought up to date to combine stunning traditional features with modern conveniences. This holiday house near Wells is a great venue for any kind of group, perfect for extended families celebrating a special occasion, a retreat, or for a corporate gathering for bonding and team building time. Topside House is also perfect for stag and hen weekends, offering great facilities along with close proximity to the bustling city of Bath for a night out. And Topside House is popular with walkers and cyclists, the Mendip Hills being very close by.

A smart entrance hallway marks the start of your journey through this 400 year old house, a welcoming space that works well for a drinks reception. Living rooms are beautiful luxury spaces with large sash windows overlooking the garden, stylish drapes and cosy open fires. The drawing room is 32 square metres, an elegant room for morning coffee or an evening glass of champagne. The lounge is an alternative room to relax in but can be set up as an extra bedroom if needed.

The games room is made for evening entertainment and fun, offering pool, table tennis, chess, Xbox and a selection of board games. The kitchen comes fully equipped with everything required to cook for a large group and the dining table is ideal for long celebratory dinners and flowing drinks.

Outside there are plenty of options for where to sit to enjoy the countryside views. The lawn is for football, croquet, netball and badminton as well as a good space for a hired-in bouncy castle or yoga retreat activities. Most have en suites but there is also a shared family bathroom, all renovated too with gorgeous Calacatta marble and limestone alongside new fixtures and fittings.

Topside House is a great base for exploring this varied area of Somerset. It's near renowned attractions like Cheddar Gorge and Wookey Hole and close enough to Frome and Bath for cool shops, bars and restaurants. The coast is only an hour away too, so a day at the beach is doable.
