Waterfront holiday house on Loch Alsh sleeping 14 with a sauna, perfect for family get togethers and walking breaks
Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. Tulach Ard, Kirkton, Ross and Cromarty, Scotland, sleeps 7 - 14 in 7 bedrooms.
Escape the stresses of modern life and head to the shores of Loch Alsh and Tulach Ard, a wonderful family holiday house sleeping 14, made for 3 generation families, friends, couples and walkers. This waterside house is perfect for a holiday in a spectacular setting.
Tulach Ard is an 18th century listed country house just 10 metres from the water, designed to reflect the stunning landscape with great views from every large picture window and doors to the garden and foreshore.
The living room extends to the whole width of the house, a stylish space using local natural materials in its design and Scottish oak furniture, the ideal place to relax next to an open fire. The long dining table in this open plan room seats all guests for dinners prepared by the cooks in the group, or by an outside private cook for an extra cost if you prefer. The kitchen is fully equipped with a table and benches for an informal breakfast, and has direct access to the conservatory. The sauna is a great addition to the house, a place to warm up after a day out hiking or even wild swimming in the loch (at your own risk).
The spiral oak staircase to the top of the house is glorious, with woven wool tartan carpet on treads leading to the bedrooms and bathrooms. Rooms are decorated using top quality Scottish textiles and period furniture to create elegant accommodation.
Open the living room French doors onto the garden and nearby foreshore, with spectacular views of Loch Alsh and towards the Isle of Skye. This really is a secluded and peaceful setting, with 30 acres of private farmland, woodland and lawn surrounding the house. There's an undercover barbecue area, and grassed space for children and dogs to expend some energy.
Paddleboard on the bay, looking out for dolphins and seals. Kyle of Lochalsh, the gateway to Skye, is a magical area to explore, full of castles, hills and lochs. And it's possible to take a bus to Skye from the harbour slipway, an hour long journey that departs every 4 hours.
