Dog friendly family holiday house in the Brecon Beacons sleeping 17 with a games for outdoor activity weekends and special occasions
Holiday Rental for Groups of Families and Friends. Ty Croeso, Crickhowell, Powys, sleeps 8 - 16 in 9 bedrooms.
This is a family holiday house in the Brecon Beacons with a really interesting history. Ty Croeso used to be the infirmary for a nearby workhouse but has been transformed into luxury self catering accommodation in the heart of the Bannau Brycheiniog (Brecon Beacons) National Park. Located in the cool festival town of Crickhowell, Ty Croeso (meaning Welcome House) is a fantastic base for exploring the Park with its array of outdoor activities, great walking and cycling, and market towns to enjoy.
This wonderfully warm and luxurious house is perfect for multi generation families and friends meeting up for a holiday or to celebrate a special occasion, as well as hen and stag group weekends.
Ty Croeso has spacious living areas including a delightful sitting room with Chesterfield sofas, an open fire and large windows overlooking Crickhowell. It also has a small bar area for guests to pour themselves a favourite drink. Enjoy a relaxing dinner together at the house or pop into Crickhowell for dinner at The Bear or The Swan.
The gardens are pretty terraced areas with an exquisite walled garden, perfect for a morning coffee or an evening beer. Bannau Brycheiniog is famous for its expansive dark skies and star gazing opportunities, great when viewed from the hot tub!
Bedrooms are comfortable indulgent spaces with cosy Welsh names including Cysgu or Cariad, and offering super kings or twins zip and links, doubles or a single, a handy combination for a mixed age group. All bedrooms are en suite with modern facilities including a gorgeous freestanding bath. A couple of sofa beds can accommodate a few more guests.
And there's a separate cabin for 2 in the garden - a cosy hideaway with a wood burner, for extra privacy as required.
The remains of a 13th century castle still stand in the town, while the Iron Age hillfort of Crug Hywel, better known as Table Mountain, overlooks the town. The Beacons Way passes through Crickhowell although more leisurely walks are available next to the River Usk or along the Monmouthshire and Brecon Canal in Llangattock. This is an area with a real festival vibe; Crickhowell Walking Festival takes place in February and Green Man in August. Also within easy reach are Abergavenny Food Festival which takes place in September and Brecon Jazz in August so there's often something exciting going on.
