West Downs Campus: Guest accommodation ideal for smaller groups or solo travellers guests (3 doubles - one with a sofa bed - and 2 singles), available all year round The accommodations are approximately a 10 minutes walk apart. One of the UK's finest, Winchester is a fantastic city with a rich heritage and many historic attractions plus great shopping and a vibrant food and drinks scene, all within a 15 minute walk. It's a perfect weekend destination for friends and families meeting up or as a base for a walking or cycling holiday in the South Downs National Park. Youth, school and corporate groups also welcome. Both sites offer shared living with communal kitchen/ dining space. All of the bedrooms are comfortable self contained spaces with en suite showers. Each Burma Road apartment has shared kitchen facilities. The cafe at the Burma Road site is a great bonus, and perfect for a pastry and coffee. The university gym at Burma Road Student Village offers a workout experience (with cardio equipment and weights) and changing rooms - day passes are available. Days can be spent wandering through the medieval streets of Winchester and visiting the historic cathedral, with plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from. For lovers of the classics, follow the Jane Austen Trail or explore a wide range of green spaces and exquisite gardens. Take the family to Winchester Science Centre in the summer months for bubble fun (free) or a day out with Thomas The Tank Engine on the Watercress Line. Christmas is a highlight in Winchester, with a magical Christmas market for picking up lovely gifts. The South Downs National Park is a great draw for walkers and cyclists, with many great trails and fantastic wildlife.
