These 6 cottages on a working farm in Yorkshire offer great family holiday accommodation near York for breaks away with extended family members or reunions of friends. The location in the North York Moors National Park is also very popular with walkers and cyclists who want to explore the beautiful rural landscape and enjoy the wonderful outdoors. All of the cottages have very comfortable warm accommodation and benefit from south facing patios and gardens for shared barbecues and al fresco dining. A major plus is that the cottages are all dog friendly so you can bring 4 legged family members along to share the excitement.

For a group, Holt and Drey can be combined to create a cottage for 10, with dining for 10 too, perfect for an extended family gathering, 2 smaller families or couples. Couch Cottage is all on the ground floor, a bonus for grandparents or anyone less mobile. Holt has 2 ground floor bedrooms and Granary has 1, also handy for a mixed age range or for parents with young children.

All of the kitchens are well and thoughtfully equipped, including a dishwasher and washer dryer, handy for managing wet walking gear. Lounges are comfy places to chill out at the end of a fun day, catching up over a drink or watching a favourite box set. There is a handy combination of bedroom types, kings, twins and doubles nearly all with en suites. All 6 cottages have contemporary baths and showers or baths with showers over. Couch also has an en suite tiled wet room.

This is an area rich in visitor attractions, fantastic walking trails and interesting cities and towns to visit. York is a must visit, for the National Railway Museum and the York Dungeon, great shopping and a wealth of restaurants and bars. The Moor to Sea Cycle Route is a real challenge for keen cyclists who can take in the coast at Scarborough or Whitby, and Forbidden Corner in Middleham, is a fascinating discovery of caves and tunnels, not for the faint hearted.
