Popular with sightseers, Bakewell is a great base from which to explore the area with circular walks locally and a wealth of activities within easy reach. Victoria Cottage is a short walk from the town centre, a spacious and comfortable cottage for 3 generational families, groups of friends, walkers and cyclists. The outside courtyard leads into the sun room where there is a handy bench for removing shoes and boots. The kitchen diner is well set up for group cooking with all required appliances including a dishwasher and washing machine. The long dining table seats 12 guests, a place to eat, drink and chat together, somewhere for sharing stories and making new memories. The double height sitting room with wood vaulted ceilings is an attractive room, perfect for chilling out together after supper on comfy sofas and planning adventures for the next day. Outside is a pretty mature garden set at roof level of the house with shrubs and places to sit made for barbecues and somewhere safe for the children to play. In addition there is a courtyard at street level, perfect for parking the cars and closing the gate for safety and security. Bedrooms are a flexible combination of twins, doubles and a bunk room, ideal for a mixed family get together, stylishly designed with hotel-style bed linen. There are 3 shared bathrooms across the house. In the vicinity of Victoria Cottage are several historic attractions for a day out, including Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall. The Monsal Trail is popular with hikers, an 8.5 mile path encompassing multiple tunnels and landmarks.
