Vivers Mill, Pickering, Yorkshire, sleeps 2-11 in 5 bedrooms.
This newly converted traditional mill house is located on the edge of the North York Moors National Park so will be particularly popular with hikers and cyclists who want to enjoy the great outdoors. Vivers Mill is an attractive holiday house in Pickering, home of the famous North Yorkshire Moors Railway and an ideal venue for meeting up with friends and family for a holiday or weekend getaway. Full of original mill house features, this important and historic building sits on a site which has been home to a mill since 1198, with connections to paper and flour industries. And the setting, with views of the mill stream and open countryside beyond, is idyllic, yet only 5 minutes walk to Pickering town centre.
The wonderful fitted kitchen at Vivers has a fantastic range and is perfect for cooking meals for your group. Sit down to eat in the dining room or start up the barbecue and enjoy the private garden. The lounge is full of mill features with the centrepiece being the huge grinding stone, and a lovely sociable space to relax after dinner.
Accommodation includes 4 doubles and 1 triple. Boasting a net 4400 sq ft of living space, the bedrooms and public areas are spacious yet cosy and comfortable with classic ceiling beams and period furniture. En suites are modern and some are especially generous in size.
The house is within walking distance of Pickering so pubs, restaurants and Pickering Castle are literally on the doorstep. Dalby Forest is under 15 minutes away and offers walking and bike trails and Go Ape as well as play areas for the youngsters. Flamingo Land Theme Park and Zoo is very close, a fun filled day out with something for everyone in a multi generation group, or visit Goathland, the Heartbeat favourite, or Castle Howard. The seaside town of Scarborough on the Cleveland Way Coastal Path is a 30 minute drive, an opportunity to explore Filey, Whitby and Robin Hood's Bay as well as glorious beaches.
